Abstract

Education is a basic and very important activity for every individual. Through education, humans can gain knowledge about everything. Apart from that, education also influences human awareness in knowing God more deeply and understanding themselves. Therefore, quality education will provide the expected results, namely the use of an individual's intellectual abilities in all aspects of his life. Paul Karl Feyerabend is known as a controversial philosopher who put forward anarchist views in epistemology and scientific methodology. In the context of Islamic education, Feyerabend believes that freedom of thought, criticism and dialogue are important principles that must be emphasized in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to investigate the concept and dedication of Paul Karl Feyerabend in the context of contemporary Islamic education with an anarchist perspective. This research is library research with a qualitative approach that focuses on descriptive analysis based on data information obtained, including sources. primary or secondary. The results of the analysis show that in Feyerabend's view, the concept of anarchism is not about disorder or chaos, but rather about diversity, plurality, and criticism of authority and norms that inhibit freedom of thought and expression. Feyerabend's dedication to contemporary Islamic education can be seen in his efforts to promote freedom of thought, independent research and as a source of inspiration for developing alternative approaches to religious learning. The anything goes principle provides the basis for creating an educational environment that is inclusive, critical, and based on freedom of thought.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between educational policies in the Merdeka Belajar era and student character building. The Merdeka Belajar concept, initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, is designed to provide a more flexible education system, oriented towards student needs, and supporting holistic character development. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with a literature review method, where data is obtained from various literature, official policies, and relevant empirical research results. The results reveal that the relationship between educational policies and student character building in the Merdeka Belajar era can be seen through six main aspects. First, educational policies within the Merdeka Belajar framework provide space for innovation for schools and teachers. Second, student character building is an integral focus, not only on cognitive aspects but also attitudes, values, and social skills. Third, there are policies that support the internalization of character values, such as the Pancasila Student Profile. Fourth, teachers play a strategic role as role models and facilitators in implementing character values ​​in the classroom. Fifth, collaboration with parents and the community is crucial to success, because character education does not only take place in schools. Sixth, implementation challenges arise from limited resources, teacher understanding, and differences in social environments. Thus, the Independent Learning policy has proven to be closely linked to strengthening student character, although it requires comprehensive support from all elements of education to achieve optimal results. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kebijakan pendidikan di era Merdeka Belajar dengan penguatan karakter siswa. Konsep Merdeka Belajar yang digagas oleh Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Indonesia dirancang untuk menghadirkan sistem pendidikan yang lebih fleksibel, berorientasi pada kebutuhan siswa, serta mendukung pembentukan karakter secara holistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka, di mana data diperoleh dari berbagai literatur, kebijakan resmi, serta hasil penelitian empiris yang relevan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa hubungan kebijakan pendidikan dan penguatan karakter siswa di era Merdeka Belajar dapat dilihat melalui enam aspek utama. Pertama, kebijakan pendidikan dalam kerangka Merdeka Belajar memberikan ruang inovasi bagi sekolah dan guru. Kedua, penguatan karakter siswa menjadi fokus integral, tidak hanya pada aspek kognitif, tetapi juga sikap, nilai, dan keterampilan sosial. Ketiga, terdapat kebijakan yang mendukung internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter, seperti Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Keempat, guru berperan strategis sebagai teladan dan fasilitator dalam mengimplementasikan nilai karakter di kelas. Kelima, kolaborasi dengan orang tua dan masyarakat sangat menentukan keberhasilan, sebab pendidikan karakter tidak hanya berlangsung di sekolah. Keenam, tantangan implementasi muncul dalam bentuk keterbatasan sumber daya, pemahaman guru, hingga perbedaan lingkungan sosial. Dengan demikian, kebijakan Merdeka Belajar terbukti memiliki hubungan erat dengan penguatan karakter siswa, meskipun membutuhkan dukungan menyeluruh dari seluruh elemen pendidikan untuk mencapai hasil yang optimal.
