Abstract

School leadership styles that affect school innovation is essential to bring schools’ changes. This study aimed to determine school leadership styles and its effect on school innovation at the senior high school level in Jambi city. This study uses ten leadership styles, they are participative, laissez faire, authoritarian, democratic, charismatic, transformational, situational, trust, grid, and three-dimensional leaderships. The framework of the research are developed by associating ten leadership styles with school innovations including (1) the principals role in doing innovation in the schools, (2) the forms of innovation implemented in the areas of academic achievement, (3) the form of innovations carried out in the field sports and (4) the form of innovations implemented in the institutional field, and (5) the forms of innovation undertaken in the field of school’ culture. There are 32 teachers and 32 principals were taken as samples. This study used mixed methods research. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and correlation. The results showed that the overall principals leadership style is not sufficient to affect senior high school innovation in Jambi city, this is evidenced by there are only three of those ten leadership styles have positive relationship when they are doing school’s innovations in Jambi city. Thus, the principals should give attention to all the leadership styles to do innovation at senior high school in Jambi city to improve the quality of schools.

Abstract

Sebagai sebuah lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang unggul dan berdaya saing, sebenarnya menuntut keterlibatan berbagai sumber daya,di antaranya sumber daya manusia (humancapital/human resource); dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya itu sebagai nilai tambah bagi lembaga pendidikan tinggi tersebut. Artinya, sebagai sebuah sistem dan manajemen mutu terpadu, perlu dikembangkan potensi yang dimiliki oleh lembaga pendidikan tinggi tersebut untuk menjadi lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang unggul dan berdaya saing dengan melihat kinerja organisasi yang lebih unggul (superior). Abstract

Perbaikan organisasi diperlukan. Berdasarkan berbagai pendekatan manajemen, lima prinsip yang digunakan untuk melakukan perbaikan yang luar biasa dalam kinerja organisasi, yaitu pengukuran/pembandingan, kepemimpinan, keterlibatan karyawan, perbaikan proses, dan fokus pelanggan. Namun, tidak setiap organisasi yang mencoba menerapkan prinsip-prinsip ini berhasil. Dalam hal ini yang diperlukan untuk sukses adalah bahwa prinsip-prinsip ini dipahami dan diterapkan sebagai sistem manajemen terpadu (integrated system of management). Kata Kunci : Manajemen Pendidikan, Kinerja Organisasi Unggul.

Abstract

Ada sembilan kecerdasan yang apabila digunakan dalam kombinasi akan memungkinkan sekolah memiliki kapabilitas untuk mencapai tujuannya dengan sukses. Berbagai upaya peningkatan sekolah yang ada menunjukkan bahwa kita perlu membawa beberapa pemikiran segar, baik dalam tujuan dan proses, yang pada gilirannya segar, baik dalam tujuan dan proses. yang pada gilirannya memiliki implikasi untuk kepemimpinan sekolah. Sekolah yang berhadil sepertinya menggunakan sembilan kecerdasan dalam proses menangani proses belajar, mengajar, efektivitas dan perbaikannya. Istilah "kecerdasan" ini menyangkut berbagai kapasitas kolektif yang dapat membina dan mengembangkan serta memaksimalkan efektivitas sekolah. hal ini tentunya melibatkan kebijakan, wawasan, intuisi dan pengalaman serta pengetahuan, keterampilan dan pemahaman.Kata kunci: Multiple Intelegence, Kecerdasan Sekolah, Efektivitas Sekolah

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the role of teacher leadership as a model for early childhood character development, as well as the difficulties in developing children's character. The study uses a qualitative approach in describing situations from social reality. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion. This study concludes that the teacher's leadership role can shape the childhood independent character. Firstly, the role of teacher leadership in learning as a model of childhood independence for habituation. Secondly, there are childhood independent characters in daily activities. Thirdly, there are difficulties faced by teachers in realizing independent characters for children. This study recommends that teachers need to be given leadership reinforcement in early childhood character development so that they can develop optimally.

Abstract

Pesantren modern Shabilla Batam, Indonesia combines two different models of educational institutions, Pesantren combines Junior High School under the Ministry of Education with pesantren which is under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This approach is supported by strong pesantren leadership. This study aims to examine the impact of personal conception in the formation of strong leadership to lead modern pesantren. The research method used is qualitative with a case study model. The research was conducted at Pesantren Modern Shabilla Batam with the subjects of the study being foundation leaders, pesantren caregivers, junior high school principals and teacher councils with a total number of participants of ten. The selection of participants was carried out by purposive method with the help of a key person. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observations and studies. The data obtained were analyzed using the Creswell (2015) approach model. The results showed a relationship between personal concepts and strong leadership. For this reason, it is recommended that research be carried out on many similar subjects to get a more complete picture.
