Abstract

Edema occurs in about 80% of pregnancies. Edema occurs due to pressure on the uterus which inhibits venous return and the pull of gravity causes greater fluid retention. Soaking the feet using warm water mixed with kencur is used to soak the feet or hydrotherapy for pregnant women. The aim of the research is to provide midwifery care to pregnant women by applying a foot soak using warm water mixed with kencur to reduce edema on the feet. using a descriptive observational design with a case study approach. Midwifery care was carried out at the Tanjung Balai Karimun Health Center, for Mrs. B. Management of soaking therapy in warm water mixed with kencur was carried out for 4 consecutive days, for 15 minutes. Evaluation of the results of the action shows that soaking the feet using warm water mixed with kencur can reduce edema in the feet of TM III pregnant women. It is hoped that this can add insight and experience in conducting midwifery care by applying the method of soaking feet using warm water mixed with kencur to reduce edema on the feet of pregnant women.

Abstract

The frequency of prenatal care visits (ANC) is determined by a number of factors, including age, the distance between the home and the independent midwife practice, and boredom during the examination line wait. Online consultations are one approach for increasing prenatal care (ANC) visits. Online consultation is medical services that facilitate communication between patients and midwives via social media platforms like WhatsApp by utilizing technology and electronic information. The researcher employed a questionnaire as the research instrument, which was given to all 19 independent practice midwives in the Batam Kota district. Based on the findings of the bivariate and univariate analysis that were assessed using Chi-Square, specifically (0.0001 <0.05), the results indicated that midwives' attitudes toward online consultation and knowledge were related to an increase in prenatal care service visits (ANC). The research's findings suggest that in addition to allowing technology to more widely personalize midwife branding, midwives need to keep up with technological advancements in order to compete both domestically and globally.
