Abstract

One of the efforts made to reduce MMR is the Antenatal Care (ANC) examination program which is mandatory for pregnant women. The Indonesian Ministry of Health stipulates that examinations for pregnant women or antenatal care be carried out at least 6 times over 9 months. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and breastfeeding in the Independent Practice work area of ​​Midwife Siti Saleha, Bantaian Village, Riau. This research uses an analytical observational design using quantitative methods with a cross-sectional research design approach. The number of samples in this study was 28 respondents. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge and breastfeeding. It is recommended that mothers do not blindly accept advertisements about formula milk in electronic media and the internet, mothers should ask health workers to find out more about the benefits and contents of breast milk which are no less than those contained in formula milk.

Abstract

Prenatal gentle yoga (yoga during pregnancy) is a type of modification of hatha yoga which is adapted to the conditions of pregnant women. Some discomforts in the third trimester in pregnant women include frequent urination 50%, vaginal discharge 15%, constipation 40%, flatulence 30%, swelling in the legs 20%, cramps in the legs 10%, headaches 20%, striae gravidarum 50%, hemorrhoids 60%, shortness of breath 60% and back pain 70%. The aim of the research was to see whether there was an effect of Prenatal Gentle Yoga on reducing complaints of lower back pain in third trimester pregnant women. The conclusion of the Wilcoxon test results shows that 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that there is an acceptable effect of prenatal gentle yoga on lower back pain in third trimester pregnant women. It is hoped that pregnant women will take part in prenatal gentle yoga classes with prenatal gentle yoga facilitators who have undergone training and received certificates so that they can apply prenatal gentle yoga which is useful for reducing maternal complaints during pregnancy, including lower back pain.

Abstract

Riskesdas data for 2018 shows that the prevalence of stunted toddlers in Indonesia is 30.8%. Conditions in Indonesia based on data from the 2019 Study on the Nutritional Status of Toddlers in Indonesia are still relatively high, where the prevalence of stunting is 27.67%. This figure shows that stunting in Indonesia is still higher than the prevalence in Southeast Asia of 24.7%. Based on data from the health profile of North Sumatra province in 2019, it is known that short toddlers in North Sumatra Province are 2.61%, where for the districts/cities the highest stunting under fives are Gunung Sitoli (41.51%), West Nias (16.61%) and Samosir (11.97%). For North Labuhan Batu Regency it is at 0.72%. This research is an observational analytical study using a retrospective case control study design which aims to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of stunting among toddlers in the Tanjung Leidong Community Health Center work area, conducted from April – June 2022. The sample size was 36 people, using a sampling technique. in this research is Consecutive sampling. The results showed that maternal knowledge was related to stunting with a p value of 0.007<0.05 with an odds ratio of 9.1 (1.99 – 41.44). It is hoped that an integrated and multisectoral program is needed to increase maternal nutritional knowledge in increasing knowledge related to stunting prevention.
