Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is prone to natural disasters in terms of geography and topography. In 2008, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) was formed which functions to coordinate disaster management in Indonesia. BNPB partners with various institutions in Indonesia, one of which is the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Overcoming disasters is one of the main tasks of the TNI in Military Operations Other Than War (OMSP). This research is quantitative in nature with a literature study to look at opportunities, challenges and comparative studies of OMSP activities in managing natural disasters. In the context of natural disaster management in Indonesia, this research concludes that the involvement of TNI through Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW) is a significant step in optimizing disaster response efforts. The collaboration between TNI and the BNPB demonstrates a synergy that enhances the country's capacity to respond to natural disasters. However, the study highlights the need for further evaluation of the implementation strategies and challenges faced, given the dynamic changes in disaster patterns. This conclusion underscores the importance of continually improving and developing collaborative strategies to ensure optimal readiness and responsiveness to the challenges of natural disasters in the future.

Abstract

The issues of rapid population growth, rapid urbanization, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the agricultural sector present significant challenges to food security and resilience in Indonesia. Focusing on food sovereignty, security, and resilience, this study reveals the complex problems faced by Indonesia. The results indicate that Indonesia is still struggling to ensure adequate food availability, adapt to climate change, and reduce hunger and malnutrition, especially among children. Despite progress in the category of food affordability, further efforts are needed in food technology research and development, as well as a strong political commitment to overcome existing regulatory challenges. Several strategies for achieving sustainable food security are proposed in this paper, including enhancing food biodiversity, supply chain management, increasing domestic food production, and improving farmers' incomes. However, obstacles remain in the market structure dominated by a small number of traders, which can affect food prices and accessibility for the community. Other challenges include increasing efficiency in food distribution, protecting natural resources, and sustainable approaches to land use in agriculture. By understanding the core challenges and opportunities for sustainability improvement, this study is expected to make a positive contribution to efforts to enhance food security and resilience in Indonesia, ensuring community welfare and inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Online gambling (judol) has become one of the significant challenges in the digital era, causing multidimensional effects, including economic losses, threats to social stability, and weakening of the law. Despite various efforts such as blocking sites and cutting off funding streams, quick adaptation by perpetrators, lack of coordination among agencies, and limitations in technology and human resources remain major obstacles. This study aims to evaluate the performance of stakeholders related to handling online gambling, map the obstacles faced by stakeholders, and formulate strategies for handling online gambling through stakeholder collaboration. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with interview techniques with stakeholders, namely Komdigi, Polri, and PPATK, using formal evaluation analysis. The results show that Komdigi's performance is not effective due to resource limitations and technological capacity, POLRI faces obstacles in legal instruments and international cooperation, while PPATK also has resource constraints and secondary data limitations. This study finds that site blocking and cutting off funding streams are effective but hindered by perpetrators' technological adaptation and suboptimal cross-agency coordination. Low public awareness also complicates the handling. Recommendations include strengthening coordination, optimizing detection technology, adaptive regulation, public education, and international cooperation for a more holistic and sustainable approach.
