Abstract

The most popular hormonal contraceptive in West Java is 3-month injectable birth control. with the most common side effect experienced is weight gain as much as 61.2% of all acceptors. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the use of 3-month injectable contraceptives and weight gain at Berkah House of Midwife Katmi, Bekasi Regency in 2022. This research design is an analytic survey with a retrospective cross sectional approach. The study population was the total number of re-visiting 3-month injectable family planning acceptors, namely 130 people, with the sampling technique using the total population with the chi-square test analysis. Results; It was found that 3-month injectable contraceptive acceptors who experienced weight gain were 61 people (47%) of the total. Based on the Chi-square test results obtained a value of P = 1 > α = 0.05. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between the use of 3-month injectable contraceptives and maternal weight gain at Berkah House of Midwife Katmi, Bekasi Regency in 2022. It is hoped that midwives can increase knowledge and conduct further research on this research.

Abstract

Background: menstrual cycle irregularity is indeed one of the side effects of implanted contraception. Disorders of menstrual patterns are often found, especially in the first 6-12 months and then some women may experience amenorrhea. Based on previous research which stated that hormonal contraception can affect the occurrence of menstrual cycle disorders Purpose of Writing: For Comparison of Use of Hormonal Family Planning Against the Duration of Events of Menstrual Cycle Disturbances in Family Planning Acceptors at TPMB Siti Jaojiah Research Methods: This research is experimental in nature with a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test with a quantitative approach. The location of this research was conducted at TPMB Siti Jaojiah. All KB acceptors use hormonal contraception. The inclusion criteria in this study were willing to be respondents, mothers who were not overweight or obese, mothers who experienced adequate rest and exclusion criteria were not willing to be respondents. This study used a purposive sampling technique. Research Results: Based on statistical tests the Tukey HSD test was carried out on acceptors of hormonal birth control by injection, pills and implants. It was seen that the sinificace value showed p> 0.05, which means that there was no difference between the use of injection contraception, pills and implants on the duration of the event. menstrual cycle. However, seen between injections and implants that have the same duration in the incidence of menstrual cycle disturbances. So that of the three hormonal birth control, the fastest duration of menstrual cycle disturbances was found in the use of injection contraception with a value of 3.64, then implants with a value of 4.67 and pills with a value of 7.70 Conclusions and Suggestions: as information in providing information regarding the selection of contraceptive use, hormonal contraceptives that are the fastest in experiencing menstrual disorders are injections so that the weaknesses of hormonal birth control can be conveyed to the fullest

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penggunaan KB suntik yang mengandung hormon progesteron diketahui dapat memengaruhi keseimbangan hormon reproduksi sehingga berpotensi menyebabkan perubahan siklus menstruasi, sehingga diperlukan intervensi komplementer seperti yoga hormonal yang diduga dapat membantu regulasi hormonal dan menjaga kestabilan siklus menstruasi pada akseptor KB suntik. Tujuan: Untuk Mengetahui Pengaruh Yoga Hormonal Terhadap Perubahan Siklus Menstruasi Pada Akseptor KB Suntik Di Klinik Seto Hasbadi 01 dan Ghaisan Medical Center Kota Bekasi Tahun 2026. Metode: Penelitian dilakukan melalui desain pre-eksperimental, dengan pemberian intervensi yoga hormonal pada kelompok akseptor KB suntik selama beberapa sesi terstruktur. Pengukuran perubahan siklus menstruasi dilakukan menggunakan lembar observasi atau kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah intervensi, kemudian dianalisis untuk melihat pengaruhnya dengan menggunakan SPSS 25. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian uji wilcoxon di ketahui Asymp. Sig (2 – Talled) bernilai 1,000 artinya tidak adanya perubahan siklus menstruasi pada akseptor KB Suntik Di Klinik Seto Hasbadi 01 dan Ghaisan Medical Center Kota Bekasi, hal ini di temukan hasil nilai kesamaan sebelum dan sesudah pada siklus mentruasi akseptor KB suntik, sehingga di simpulkan hasil penelitian tidak adanya pengaruh yoga hormonal terhadap perubahan siklus menstruasi pada Akseptor KB suntik. Kesimpulan dan Saran: diharapkan dapat melibatkan jumlah sampel yang lebih besar dan cakupan tempat penelitian yang lebih luas agar hasil dapat digeneralisasikan secara lebih optimal. Peneliti berikutnya juga disarankan mengontrol variabel perancu seperti lama penggunaan KB suntik, tingkat stres, status gizi, dan aktivitas fisik yang dapat memengaruhi keseimbangan hormonal dan siklus menstruasi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of progestin hormonal contraceptive use on the duration of use and the incidence of menstrual cycle disorders among contraceptive acceptors in Muara Enim District in 2024. The method used is a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of all hormonal contraceptive acceptors in Muara Enim District, with a sample size of 853 people, determined using G Power software. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman’s rho test. The statistical test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between hormonal contraceptive use and menstrual cycle disorders. A correlation coefficient of 0.28 indicates a fairly strong and positive relationship. Furthermore, there is a relationship between the duration of hormonal contraceptive use and menstrual cycle disorders, with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.39, suggesting a moderate and positive relationship in the same direction. These findings are expected to provide valuable information for healthcare providers to offer more accurate recommendations regarding potential menstrual cycle disorders in progestin hormonal contraceptive users, enabling patients to better understand the possible risks associated with this contraceptive method.
