Abstract

Urban forest is one of the green open space shape which requires as O2, CO2 absorb, and it is able to create healty physical environment. Prabumulih is one of the part city in South Sumatera which have acreage 4,344.6 ha with existing urban forest areal ±10 ha.The aims of this research is identifying, predicting the urban forest area necessity based on the total of CO2 emissions, and determining the appropriate location to be prioritized as urban forest. The source of CO2 emission derives from the use of fuel (gasoline, diesel, LPG), agricultural area (rice field), cattle (cows, buffaloes, horses, goats, sheep, and poultry) and citizens. Identification of urban forest priority area is based on characteristic of urban forest. The result of this research indicate CO2 emission in 2014 was 190.64 Gg CO2 with the urban forest area necessity to 3,262.44 ha and CO2 emission was predicted to increase until 2034. The result from of model simulation in this research showed that CO2 emission in 2034 will be predicted to 279.40 Gg CO2 with urban forest area needs to 4,785.98 ha. Urban forest locations with higher priority are in Cambai district, West Prabumulih, East Prabumulih, and North Prabumulih.

Abstract

Human activities, which have interfered with the ecological system, have led to global warming. This has led to the release of carbon stocks into the atmosphere, thereby reducing the function of carbon sinks in places with vegetated land. With increased human activities, vegetated land will soon become non-vegetated. This is because the increased human activities have led to the absorption of higher amounts of carbon in the atmosphere than the required level. Therefore, this study aimed to estimate land cover on carbon stocks in Prabumulih City, South Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The study employed a random field survey using a dynamic system, with the results showing that land cover consisted of oil palm plantations, mixed plantations, grass, swamp shrubs, and rivers. However, the area was dominated by rubber plantations, and as a result, the carbon stocks continued to decline. For instance, in 2008, the level of carbon stock was 2,438.72 Gg and fell to 2,190.85 Gg in 2020, indicating a 4.8% decrease. It is projected that by 2030, the carbon stock in land cover will be 1,988.07 Gg.

Abstract

Waste management in oil and gas industry activities must be managed before being discharged into the environment. One effort that can be made is to use an API separator to reduce pollutant levels in wastewater. This research aims to analyze the efficiency of using API separators to manage wastewater production at the PT Perta-Samtan Gas Prabumulih extraction plant to control environmental pollution. The results showed that no parameters exceeded the quality standard at the API Separator outlet before being discharged into the river. The efficiency of the API Separator can be seen from the percentage of pollutant removal levels in wastewater after processing in the API Separator for the % oil and grease removal parameter reaching 92.7%, and the TOC parameter is 47.5% and for the chlorine parameter is 46.4%.

Abstract

Perubahan iklim terjadi akibat adanya pemanasan global dampak dari peningkatan gas rumah kaca. Salah satu penghasil gas rumah kaca adalah sektor peternakan yang menyumbangkan gas metana dan nitrogen dioksida. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengestimasi jumlah emisi ternak di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dengan metode Tier 1 IPCC 2006. Hasil penelitian ini adalah total emisi CO2eq yang dihasilkan peternakan di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan adalah sebesar 675,66 Gg CO2eq dimana penghasil emisi tertinggi berasal dari Ogan Komering Ulu Timur sebesar 149,92 CO2eq. Ternak sapi potong menghasilkan emisi CO2eq paling banyak yaitu sebesar 394,23 CO2eq lalu kerbau sebesar 55,36 CO2eq. Perlu dilakukan upaya mitigasi pada sektor peternakan untuk menekan peningkatan emisi GRKdari ternak.

Abstract

ABSTRAK PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) menggunakan metode penambangan terbuka yang berpotensi menimbulkan air asam tambang yang mengandung logam berat, yang dapat merusak ekosistem dan menurunkan kualitas air serta tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengelolaan air asam tambang di Kolam Pengendap Lumpur (KPL) AL-01 Cik Ayib Tambang Air Laya PTBA, serta upaya pemantauan dan perawatan yang dilakukan. Penelitian mencakup metode preventive dan curative. Metode preventive meliputi enkapsulasi dan manajemen PAF dan NAF, sementara metode curative menggunakan kapur tohor dan tawas sebagai penetral serta tanaman air untuk passive treatment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengelolaan air asam tambang di KPL AL-01 Cik Ayib efektif dalam memenuhi standar baku mutu air limbah. Pada Januari dan Februari 2024, pengukuran pH dan TSS di outlet memenuhi standar, meskipun pH inlet masih di bawah standar. Pengelolaan dengan active dan passive treatment berhasil meningkatkan kualitas air. Pengelolaan air asam tambang di PTBA efektif menurunkan kadar logam berat dan meningkatkan pH, serta memenuhi standar baku mutu air limbah sebelum dialirkan ke lingkungan. Upaya berkelanjutan diperlukan untuk menjaga kualitas lingkungan. Kata Kunci : Air asam tambang, Pengelolaan air, Active Treatment, Passive Treatment

Abstract

Revegetasi dilakukan untuk perbaikan biodiversitas dan pemulihan estitakan tanaman serta mengembalikan fungsinya sebagai penghasil oksigen dan penyerap karbondioksida. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tahapan revegetasi yang dilakukan oleh PT Bukit Asam Tbk pada lahan bekas temporary stockpilebatubara ID 16 Bangko Barat 2020. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan metode observasi langsung ke lapangan dan pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tahapan revegetasi yang dilakukan meliputi pemasangan ajir, pembuatan lubang tanam, pemupukan, penanaman, dan pemeliharaan. Faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan revegetasi di antaranya adalah pemilihan jenis tanaman yang tepat, penataan lahan yang baik, pemeliharaan tanaman yang intensif, dan pengendalian hama dan penyakit.

Abstract

The presence of acid mine water will have a negative impact on the community and the environment so that prevention and management of acid mine water is needed by utilizing quicklime and alum which function to neutralize and precipitate acid mine water. The purpose of this study was to understand the process of managing acid mine water with the active method applied at PT Bukit Asam Tbk. The results of this study are where the stages of acid mine water management start from pumping sump water and measuring the water discharge and flowing to KPL BB 07 after that the pH of the inlet and outlet water is checked periodically for 1 month, then flowed into the water body if it meets environmental quality standards, namely with a pH of 6. The dosage of quicklime and alum used varies, depending on the water conditions in the KPL
