Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of aloe vera waste liquid fertilizer on the growth and yield of baby cucumbers on peat soil. The study was conducted in the Pontianak from May 5, 2019 to June 14, 2019. The method of the study was designed in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, i.e. the concentration of Aloe vera waste manure, which consisted of 5 treatments with 5 replications and each replication consisted of 5 sample plants. The treatment were set as p1 = 3%, p2 = 5%, p3 = 7%, p4 = 9%, p5 = 11% of aloe vera waste manure were applied by watering directly on to the peat soil media with 600 ml/liter of water correspond to soil field capacity. The variables observed in this study were root volume, root dry weight, dry weight of the plant shoot, number of fruits per plant, fruit diameter, weight per fruit and weight of fruit per plant. The results showed that the application of aloe vera waste liquid manure have increased the growth and yield of baby cucumbers grown in peat soil. It was concluded that the application of 7% concentration of aloe vera waste manure was noted as an effective concentration for the growth, and weight of baby cucumber fruits.  Keywords: baby cucumber, peat soil, aloe vera waste, liquid organic fertilizer,

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara bokasi tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan pupuk nitrogen yang memberikan pertumbuhan bibit pepaya California yang terbaik pada tanah aluvial. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Komplek Untan Jalan Silat Baru Kecamatan Pontianak Tenggara, Kota Pontianak. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 3 bulan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen lapangan dengan pola faktorial rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu faktor pertama pemberian bokasi TKKS dan faktor kedua pemberian pupuk nitrogen. Pemberian bokasi TKKS terdiri dari 3 taraf dan pemupukan nitrogen 3 taraf. Didapatkan kombinasi perlakuan sebanyak 9 kombinasi yaitu : a1n1 = 400 g bokasi TKKS + 0,3 g N,  a1n2 = 400 g bokasi TKKS + 0,5 g N, a1n3 = 400 g bokasi TKKS + 0,7 g N, a2n1 = 800 g bokasi TKKS + 0,3 g N, a2n2 = 800 g bokasi TKKS + 0,5 g N,  a2n3 = 800 g bokasi TKKS + 0,7 N, a3n1 = 1200 g bokasi TKKS + 0,3 g N, a3n2 = 1200 g bokasi TKKS + 0,5 g N, a3n3 = 1200 g bokasi TKKS + 0,7 g N . Adapun variabel pengamatan yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, berat kering tanaman, kadar klorofil daun, dan volume akar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian bokasi TKKS dan urea tidak saling mempengaruhi untuk pertumbuhan bibit pepaya California. Namun, semakin tinggi dosis pemberian bokasi TKKS dan urea semakin efektif untuk pertumbuhan bibit pepaya California hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari variabel berat kering tanaman pada dosis bokasi TKKS 800 g dan dosis urea 0,7 g. Kata Kunci: aluvial, bibit pepaya california, bokasi tandan kosong kelapa sawit, nitrogen

Abstract

Mentha piperita Linn is one of the annual herbaceous plants that has many benefits, such as mint oil which is used as an aroma and flavor enhancer in food and drinks, medicine, perfume, cosmetics, and other refreshing products. Efforts to increase mint plant production by expanding cultivation land on alluvial soils must be balanced with intensification efforts, such as applying nitrogen fertilizer because mint is a leaf-producing plant that requires a lot of N elements. This study aims to determine the best dose of nitrogen fertilizer in increasing growth and yield of mint on alluvial soils. This research was conducted from October 21, 2019 to January 24, 2020. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design. The treatments consisted of 5 levels namely n1 = 0.09 g N/polybag, n2 = 0.18 g N/polybag, n3 = 0.28 g N/polybag, n4 = 0.37 g N/polybag, n5 = 0.46 g N/polybag. All treatments were repeated 5 times, each treatment consists of 4 plant samples. The results showed that the best dose of nitrogen fertilizer for increasing Mentha piperita Linn. production was 0.46 g N/polybag on variable leaf weight per plant. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the best dosage of clam shell powder for the growth and yield of green mustard on peat soil. The research was conducted at the research field of Agricultural Faculty of Tanjungpura University Pontianak from October 28th to December 28th 2018. The Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this experiment with 4 levels of clam shell powder dosage and 6 replications. The levels of dosage were 10.1, 13.6, 17.3 and 20 tons/ha consecutively. Observed variables were the leaf number, the root volume, the leaf area and the fresh and dry weight of plant. The results showed that the levels of clam shell powder had no significant effects on all of growth and yield variables observed. It is concluded that the 10.1 tons/ha was the most efficient dosage of clam shell powder. Keywords : the clam shell powder, peat soil, Green Mustard
