Abstract

The development of the times that brings change can especially be felt with the presence of the media. Of course it is not surprising, knowing that social media is of great interest to digital technology users. However, the social media that is currently busy and popular among social media users, which is currently trending, is the Tik-Tok application. In the Tik Tok application, it displays a variety of videos that attract the attention of its users. But who would have thought, behind the use of the Tik Tok application as a means to increase creativity, it has a side that has an impact on users' feelings of addiction. Addiction is caused by Tik Tok users who do not have supervision or do not know the limits of excessive use. So, addicts to the Tik Tok application will be careless and even forget about how much time they use in their daily lives. This research aims to find out one of the causes of divorce caused by the TikTok application. So the application can be used as an anticipation of action for active social media users on the Tik Tok application. This research was prepared based on a library study taken from information related to the unwise use of Tik Tok which can give rise to bad habits such as bad morals, erosion of manners, neglect of carrying out obligations and not having a sense of responsibility.

Abstract

Al-Masudi (d. 956 CE), best known for Muruj al-Dhahab wa Maadin al-Jawhar (The Meadows of Gold and Mines of Gems), occupies an important position in the development of classical Islamic historiography. This study examines the historiographical method employed by Al-Masudi and evaluates its contribution to historical writing in the medieval Islamic world. Using the historical method through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, the research analyzes methodological features reflected in his major works. The findings indicate that Al-Masudi adopted an empirical, multidisciplinary, and comparative approach to historiography by combining observations derived from extensive travel with critical engagement with transmitted reports. His method incorporated geographical, ethnographic, and environmental perspectives within a thematic framework (al-tasnif al-mawdhu'i), allowing for a broader interpretation of historical phenomena. His engagement with diverse civilizations is reflected in his efforts to document and compare the customs, beliefs, and social practices of different societies rather than confining his narratives to a single cultural perspective. The study argues that Al-Masudi’s historiographical approach represents an important development within the Islamic intellectual tradition and continues to offer valuable insights for contemporary discussions on interdisciplinary and empirically informed historical inquiry.

Abstract

This development research produced an interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 for the social arithmetic material of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Percut Sei Tuan using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The results showed that the media was very valid with a percentage of 92% from material and media experts, and very practical based on teacher (100%) and student (97.13%) responses. In addition, this media was proven to be effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities as indicated by an N-Gain value of 0.73 (high category) through an increase in the average score from 35.22 in the pre-test to 65.26 in the post-test. This media was considered easy to operate, interesting, interactive, and able to motivate students to be active in learning so that it could improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. Thus, the Articulate Storyline 3 media on social arithmetic material was proven to be valid, practical, and effective in supporting the improvement of mathematical problem-solving, and could be an innovative alternative in improving the quality of enjoyable mathematics learning according to the demands of the 21st century.
