Abstract

Safety and security are the main things that need to be considered when driving on the road, both for four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicle users. The risk factors for traffic injuries include various aspects, one of which is human error. Teenagers need to be coached and given good guidance to be more careful when driving. The aim of this community service is to increase the knowledge of youth groups regarding safety riding at SMAN 10 Makassar. The method provided in implementing this socialization is in the form of a lecture method and audiovisual media which is divided into 3 stages. Stage 1 preparation includes determining the schedule and preparing educational tools and instruments. Stage 2 of implementation includes a pre-test providing counseling material, a question and answer session and discussion as well as a post-test. Stage 3 is the evaluation stage. The results obtained show that there is an influence of providing lecture and audiovisual method counseling on the knowledge of students at SMAN 10 Makassar with the results of the Wilcpxon Test obtaining a p value (0.001).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Stunting remains a major public health problem in Indonesia, particularly in South Sulawesi, which recorded a high prevalence of 27.4% in 2023. Adolescents, as future parents, play a crucial role in breaking the intergenerational cycle of stunting; therefore, effective nutrition education strategies are needed. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of lecture methods and audiovisual media in improving adolescents’ knowledge of stunting prevention. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group approach was employed involving 164 eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Enrekang, divided into two groups: 82 respondents in the lecture group and 82 respondents in the audiovisual group. A questionnaire was administered before and after the intervention, and data were analyzed using paired sample t-test and independent t-test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that the lecture method increased knowledge scores from 0.35 to 0.60, but the change was not statistically significant (p = 0.072). In contrast, audiovisual media significantly increased knowledge scores from 0.37 to 0.85 (p = 0.000). An independent t-test also revealed a significant difference between the two groups (t = −5.285; p = 0.000). Thus, audiovisual media was proven to be more effective than the lecture method in enhancing adolescents’ knowledge of stunting prevention. It is recommended that audiovisual media be integrated into adolescent health education programs in schools and communities to support accelerated stunting reduction efforts. Keywords: Stunting, Adolescents, Nutrition Education, Lecture Method, Audiovisual Media.  ABSTRAK Stunting masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat serius di Indonesia, termasuk di Sulawesi Selatan yang mencatat prevalensi tinggi mencapai 27,4% pada tahun 2023. Remaja sebagai calon orang tua memiliki peran penting dalam memutus siklus intergenerasional stunting, sehingga diperlukan strategi edukasi gizi yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas metode ceramah dan media audiovisual terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan remaja dalam pencegahan stunting. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi-experimental dengan pendekatan pretest–posttest with control group pada 164 siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Enrekang yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu 82 responden pada kelompok ceramah dan 82 responden pada kelompok audiovisual. Instrumen berupa kuesioner diberikan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi, dengan analisis data menggunakan paired sample t-test dan independent t-test pada tingkat signifikansi α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode ceramah meningkatkan skor pengetahuan dari 0,35 menjadi 0,60 namun tidak signifikan (p = 0,072), sedangkan media audiovisual meningkatkan skor pengetahuan dari 0,37 menjadi 0,85 secara signifikan (p = 0,000). Uji independent t-test juga menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok (t = −5,285; p = 0,000). Dengan demikian, media audiovisual terbukti lebih efektif dibandingkan ceramah dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja tentang pencegahan stunting, sehingga disarankan untuk diintegrasikan ke dalam program edukasi kesehatan remaja baik di sekolah maupun di komunitas guna mendukung percepatan penurunan angka stunting. Kata Kunci: Stunting, Remaja, Edukasi Gizi, Metode Ceramah, Media Audiovisual.
