Abstract

This research is to find out the nature of truth; perspectives of knowledge, science, religion and philosophy. This research uses a library research method with a qualitative approach. The research results show that: 1) The nature of truth. The emergence of a theory of truth can build knowledge from the views and understanding obtained through existing processes. In order to emphasize theory as a benchmark for truth, we can look at the theory of truth from two very common perspectives, namely: the western-based theory of truth and the theory of truth. The nature of truth is rational, empirical and pragmatic. 2) Knowledge includes reasoning and logic, 3) The characteristics of knowledge are that it is arranged methodically, systematically and coherently about a particular field and reality and can be used to explain certain phenomena in the field (knowledge). 4) Religion is human belief or belief in a teaching that comes from God, the bearer of truth, and 5) philosophy is a science that seriously studies the nature of the truth of all things.

Abstract

This research is to find out the problems and solutions for development in Islamic boarding schools. This research uses a library research method with a qualitative approach. Problems and challenges of Salaf (traditional) Islamic boarding school education: 1) human resources. 2) source of funds, 3) limited facilities and infrastructure. 4) Problems with communication access to the outside world. 5) the Islamic boarding school tradition which still adheres closely to centric kiai. 6) very strong tradition of Salaf Islamic boarding schools places emphasis on the transmission of classical knowledge. 7) specialization at Salaf Islamic boarding schools in certain fields, for example Sufism oriented or Ushul fiqh oriented. 8) the Salaf Islamic boarding school curriculum is less relevant to current developments, and 9) institutional management. The challenges faced by Salaf Islamic boarding schools are competition with modern Islamic boarding schools and public schools, the stigma of being a place for radical Islamic cadres. Meanwhile, the problems and challenges of Khalaf (modern) Islamic boarding school education are the conflict between old ulama and young ulama and the existence of dichotomy or discreteness. Problems originating from students, curriculum, learning methods. facilities and infrastructure, influence of the western world and politics. The solution to Islamic boarding school problems is that educational programs must be repaired, updated and rebuilt, including reformulation of vision, objectives, curriculum, institutional management, educational methods and strategies, infrastructure, administration and so on.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the concept of Muhammadiyah education. This research uses the library research method. The results of the research show that: (1) the background to the founding of Muhammadiyah is subjective factors, namely the verses of Al-and internal objective factors (the impurity of the practices of the Islamic ummah due to not making the Al-Qur'an and Sunnah the only major references for Muslims) and external objective factors (educational institutions owned by Muslims have not been able to prepare a generation that is ready to carry out the mission of Allah's caliphate on earth). (2) the aim of Muhammadiyah is "to uphold and uphold the Islamic religion so that a true Islamic society can be realized, (3) Muhammadiyah's charitable efforts are in the health, economic, social, cultural, human development, legal, etc. sectors, (4) renewal of Islamic education, Muhammadiyah established educational institutions from elementary to tertiary levels, (5) The aim of tajdid in Muhammadiyah, aims to function Islam as hudan, furqon, and rahmatan lil'alamin, including underlying and guiding the development of science and technology.
