The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of literacy and promotion on the use of Shopeepay paylater on postgraduate students of IAIN Parepare. Result Research is a field research (Field Research) which is quantitative with an associative approach to knowing the influence of literacy and promotion on the use of Shopeepay paylater in postgraduate students of IAIN Parepare. The data analysis techniques used are quantitative descriptive with an associative approach. Which aims to find out the relationship between two variables or more.Research results show that: (1) Literacy (X1) has a significant influence on the use of Shopeepay paylater, proven with a significance value of 0,000 > 0.05 and a regression coefficient of 0.724.(2) Promotion (X2) has a significant influence on the use of Shopeepay paylater, demonstrated with a significance value of 0,801 < 0,05 and a regression coefficient of 0,037. (3) Then literacy (X1) and promotion (X2) have simultaneously or jointly influenced the use of Shopeepay paylater, proving a F-count value of 25,736 > F-table is 3.11 with a sig. p= 0,000 < 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of philosophy of language in supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. The main focus of the study is to determine how theories of philosophy of language can strengthen the planning and implementation of learning, thereby improving student competence and achievement. The research methodology uses a qualitative approach with a literature review design. Data were obtained through searching relevant journal articles, books, and research reports. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify patterns, gaps, and the contribution of philosophy of language in the development of English language learning according to the Independent Curriculum. The results show that philosophy of language plays a significant role in improving the quality of English language learning in the Independent Curriculum. Pragmatics emphasizes the importance of contextual communication, constructivism builds active student involvement, speech acts strengthen the social function of language, hermeneutics deepens text understanding, and structuralism strengthens the foundation of the language system. The integration of these theories has been proven to support the improvement of communicative skills, critical thinking, and student academic achievement.

Abstract

Sharia banks act as financial institutions that perform financial intermediary functions, connecting parties with excess funds with parties in need of funds. The pandemic era in early 2020 is one of the most striking examples that shows the serious impact of macroeconomic changes on Islamic banking in Indonesia. This study focuses on the performance of Islamic banking. It aims to analyze changes in four variables: number of branches, number of human resources, outstanding financing, and Non-Forming Finance in Islamic banks, both before and during the pandemic. The method used is a statistical approach sourced from secondary data published by the OJK, which includes a sample of 12 Islamic commercial banks and 21 Islamic business units. The analysis technique used is a descriptive comparative analysis of the results of the Mann-Whitney statistical test. The results of this study, based on the analysis using the Mann-Whitney test, indicate significant differences in these variables between the periods before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Islamic banking sector. Therefore, a strategic response is needed from the Islamic banking sector in addressing changes in the economic situation and customer behavior influenced by external factors such as the pandemic. The importance of adaptation by the Islamic banking sector in facing a pandemic, as well as the importance of better risk management in managing business growth and credit risk.

Abstract

Language plays a crucial role in shaping the learning process, particularly within Islamic educational settings where linguistic practices are intertwined with religious and pedagogical values. This study aims to analyze language use in Islamic education through the lens of language games as proposed by Ludwig Wittgenstein. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations, interaction analysis, and documentation of teacher–student communication. The findings reveal that language use in Islamic classrooms is inherently contextual and governed by implicit rules that align with specific instructional and religious practices. Various forms of language use were identified, including instructional language, explanatory discourse, interrogative exchanges, and religious expressions. Each of these reflects distinct language games in which meaning is constructed through use rather than fixed definitions. Furthermore, the study highlights that the integration of religious expressions into classroom discourse enriches the complexity of language practices and reinforces shared understanding among participants. The application of Wittgenstein’s perspective demonstrates that meaning emerges dynamically within the social context of learning activities. This study contributes to the understanding of language as a socially embedded practice in Islamic education and offers insights for educators to develop more context-sensitive and effective communication strategies in the classroom.

Abstract

Traditional linguistic views often reduce language to a mere descriptive sign system that represents reality. However, the paradigm shift toward pragmatism demonstrates that language is fundamentally a tool for taking action within social dynamics. This article aims to analyze how language meaning is reconceptualized from mere representation to action, and the extent to which situational context determines the meaning of an utterance. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing philosophical and linguistic texts rooted in Wittgenstein’s concept of language games and the Speech Act Theory proposed by J.L. Austin and John Searle. The findings indicate that the meaning of an utterance is not merely embedded in its semantic and syntactic structure; rather, it is fundamentally shaped by its illocutionary and perlocutionary force during language use. Language does not simply describe the world, but actively alters and constructs social reality through performative acts such as promising, ordering, or declaring. Understanding language through a pragmatism perspective provides a more comprehensive framework for dissecting human interaction and is highly relevant for unraveling the complexities of modern communication, which relies heavily on contextual negotiation.
