Abstract

Tolerance is a very important thing in life and in appreciating the differences that exist, tolerance must basically be instilled from school age how a child processes to know the differences that exist in their environment. The use of Big Book media is a special alternative as a media to introduce the diversity around so that students can understand what is meant by tolerance so that knowledge of tolerance can grow well by using Big Book media as a media to introduce tolerance. In this study used media R & D using a model developed by Brog and Gall, so that the discovery of the results of 96.5% of students better understand the material taught is about increasing tolerance among others so that it can be concluded that the use of Big Book media is very effective in introducing the material to be taught so that students can better understand and motivation to learn better.

Abstract

As a result of the lack of character education for children, it causes a moral crisis, such as social problems in society, drinking, bullying and others. Character education in the Independent curriculum is very important because it has several main objectives. First, the character of Education aims to develop the basic character of students in accordance with the values of Pancasila, such as religious, nationalist, integrity, independence, and mutual assistance. Second, the character of education is expected to form students who have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and other skills needed to face complex future challenges. The method in this study using literature studies. Through the new policy of Education Quality reform in Indonesia curriculum “Merdeka belajar " and character education is expected to be a significant movement in the learning process to improve the quality of Education and improve the quality of students in the modern era
