Abstract

Respiratory failure is a failure in the gas exchange function between oxygen and carbon dioxide which can cause decreased consciousness. One of the complications of decreased consciousness that is often encountered is sputum retention. The intervention carried out was chest physiotherapy combined with suction. Based on a preliminary study, it was found that 24 (80%) experienced respiratory failure. To reduce sputum production in patients with respiratory failure with chest physiotherapy intervention combined with suction in the ICU of a private hospital. The research method used in this research is a case report by conducting intervention observations and also airway clearance research with 1 respondent. After chest physiotherapy combined with suction, the results showed an increase in oxygen saturation from 88% to 99% and sputum production decreased from ± 10 cc to ± 7 cc.  After chest physiotherapy combined with suction for 3 days, significant results were obtained, namely an increase in oxygen saturation and also a decrease in sputum production.  ICU nurses are expected to be able to apply chest physiotherapy combined with suction to reduce sputum production in patients with respiratory failure in the ICU by paying attention to vital signs. Intervention is carried out once a day.
EFEKTIVITAS ROM PASIF KOMBINASI DENGAN ELEVASI KAKI TERHADAP PERUBAHAN PERFUSI PERIFER PADA PASIEN KRITIS DI RUANG INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU) RUMAH SAKIT BETHESDA YOGYAKARTA TAHUN 2024: CASE REPORT: Effectiveness of Passive ROM Combined with Leg Elevation on Changes in Peripheral Perfusion in Critical Patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta in 2024: Case Report Made Wahyu Ryan Baskara; Diah Pujiastuti; Margaretha Rina Anjarwati

Abstract

Critical patients who experience organ dysfunction can be life-threatening so special monitoring is needed. Critical patients with prolonged bed rest and weakness in the limbs cause poor peripheral vascularization. Non-pharmacological action by carrying out passive ROM combined with leg elevation is useful for improving blood circulation in the periphery. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of passive ROM combined with leg elevation on changes in peripheral perfusion in critical patients in the ICU at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta in 2024. The case report method involves carrying out an intervention for 2 days with a duration of 10 minutes. One participant was a critical patient in the ICU Room at Bethesda Hospital, Yogyakarta. The measuring tool uses a supporting data observation sheet and a peripheral perfusion assessment sheet, namely ABI. The results showed an increase in ABI values in patients. The conclusion of this study was that there was an increase in ABI values after passive ROM combined with leg elevation. It is hoped that future research can carry out passive ROM combined with leg elevation to change peripheral perfusion, for example in hemiplegic patients.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious threat to the future generation of Indonesia. Stunting is a growth and development disorder resulting from chronic malnutrition and recurring infections. Posyandu is the front line in efforts to prevent stunting because it involves measuring growth and development. The aim of this Community Service (PKM) is to address stunting through e-counseling with an inclusive approach to promote and support the participation of people with disabilities and their access to healthcare services. It is expected that this PKM will contribute to the sustainability of community-based health programs that are inclusive. From the PKM conducted, various characteristics of the cadres were identified, including those who areve. E-counseling is conducted both offline and online. The offline e-counseling activities for cadres proceeded smoothly, with all participants enthusiastically participating in every training process. One of the cadres is inclusive. There was an increase in knowledge by 6 points. The offline e-counseling activities for mothers with stunted toddlers went well. The online e-counseling activities for one month also went well, although one participant experienced signal issues.
