Abstract

Democracy is a political system and ideologue that has been widely applied in various countries in the post-cold war world. Democracy tries to become an international political regime that is so gallant and ideal in terms of the system and the dimensions of its use. Democracy does not only discuss matters of state and government, but also issues of basic human values in the form of human rights, humanity, egalitarianism, gender, femininity and even capitalist economic issues which are also closely related to democracy. But another fact occurred, the ideal dimension of democracy shifted to pragmatism and transactional politics with the emergence of the reality of the rampant practice of money politics in Indonesia. The emergence of these things is certainly not in a vacuum and without effort. The issue of money politics has become a big and terrible scourge amid the consolidation and development of democracy in Indonesia today. Political pragmatism occurs not only at the central level in the form of presidential elections but has reached the grass roots, namely elections to villages. So that this is suspected by many parties as part of the emergence of a culture of corruption in Indonesia. In other words, the rampant cases of corruption that occur in Indonesia are more likely to occur because of the extraordinarily large cost politics in the implementation of democracy. Both in terms of subject and political object in Indonesia. So this will become a political pathology that must be addressed immediately. The political pragmatism that occurs in Indonesia has an extraordinary transactional political economy dimension. So this should be a red note for democracy in Indonesia. So the ideals of reform that have been echoed since 1998 can be realized gradually. However, if the problem of money politics is still rife, then the ideals of reform in the form of realizing Indonesia as a democratic country will experience extraordinary distortions.

Abstract

Democracy is a political system that is widely used by many countries in the world, including Indonesia. Elections are something that is closely related to democracy. So it has a series of presidential elections, regional head elections and legislative elections. In its development, regional elections have become a magnet that attracts many parties to conduct research. On the basis that there will be good development in a democratic manner with regional elections as an integral part of the regional autonomy system. Thus, there is great hope that the results of the regional elections will create equitable development with the assumption that regional money management will be maximized. It's just that that's not what happened, so we tried to carry out a simple study about development based on representation of support, not because of the needs of the area. This then happened in Lamongan, where there was a development gap, the Pantura area saw more massive development than the development in the South Lamongan area.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategic interests of petroleum in the escalation of conflict between the United States and Iran from the perspective of international relations. The conflict between the two countries represents one of the most complex geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East, influenced not only by ideological and security issues but also by global energy interests. Iran, as one of the countries with the largest oil reserves in the world, holds a strategic position in international energy distribution, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz, which serves as a major route for global oil trade. This condition places Iran as an important actor in energy geopolitics and a central concern of United States foreign policy. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach and utilizes library research as the primary research design. Data were collected from official documents, scientific journals, books, academic articles, and various international media sources related to the conflict between the United States and Iran. The analysis applies realism theory and an energy geopolitics approach to explain the relationship between national interests, control over energy resources, and the escalation of international conflict. The results of the study indicate that petroleum is a major factor influencing the dynamics of relations between the United States and Iran. The United States seeks to maintain its geopolitical dominance and global energy stability through various political and economic policies toward Iran, while Iran utilizes its energy resources and strategic geographical position to preserve its regional influence and national sovereignty. The conflict between the two countries demonstrates that oil is not merely an economic commodity but also a strategic political instrument in the struggle for global power. In addition to affecting the stability of the Middle East region, the US–Iran conflict also has significant implications for global energy security and the international economy
