Abstract

Dry climate plants are plants that can adapt in a dry environment. The Mexican Park located in the Bogor Botanical Garden has a very varied species of dry climate plants. The study aims to find out the diversity and abundance of dry-climate plants in the Mexican Park, as well as the factors that influence the dry climatic plants that can grow in the Bogor Botanical Garden. The research was carried out by direct exploration method by creating three spaces of 5m x 5m, 10mx 5m and 10m x 10m. Data analysis techniques in this study use quantitative analysis. The results of the research showed that the diversity and abundance of dry climate plants in the Mexican Park of the Bogor Botanical Garden found 15 species with a total of as many as 120 individuals. The Important Value Index (INP) of dry climate plants at all observation spots obtained a value of 2.8667%, with the highest INP being the Rhoeo discolor, so the diversity and abundance of dry-climatic plants in the Mexican Park of the Bogor Botanical Gardens can be categorized as moderate. Dry climate plants can grow in the Bogor Botanical Garden because this Mexican Park makes it very similar to its original habitat, so the nutrition and climate elements are what influence the growth factor of the plant dry climate in the Mexican Garden of Bogor.

Abstract

A biology laboratory is a room for experiments and research to understand biological concepts and each experiment. Science laboratory standardization is regulated by Minister of National Education Regulation no. 24 of 2007. This research aims to increase awareness about the importance of effective and efficient waste management. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah X, South Tangerang, for the 2024/2025 academic year. The research methods used in collecting data were interviews, observation, and documentation, which were then presented descriptively. The results of interviews with laboratory assistants and biology teachers were described qualitatively, observational data were described quantitatively in percentages, and documentation was used as research-supporting data. Waste management at Madrasah Aliyah X, South Tangerang, is included in the excellent category. Waste management needs to be developed by collaborating with external parties so that waste management is optimal and there is no accumulation of waste.

Abstract

Cleanliness in school environments is a critical factor in creating a comfortable atmosphere, essential for sustaining the educational process. A clean setting, especially in schools, undoubtedly aids in achieving optimal health, thereby enhancing individual productivity. One factor influencing environmental cleanliness is waste management. Proper waste management positively affects both environmental conditions and public health. Conversely, poor waste management adversely impacts these areas. Understanding waste management must be instilled in individuals from an early age. This research aims to foster environmental care attitudes among SMKN 7 South Tangerang students through a waste management educational seminar. Activities included seminars and practical waste management exercises at SMKN 7 Tangsel, involving 39 Culinary Arts students from grade 11. Data collection utilized qualitative methods, including observations, surveys, and documentation. The results indicate a positive change in students' practices and knowledge following the waste management education program.
