Abstract

Tuberculosis is a direct infectious disease caused by Tuberculosis bacteria (Microbacterium Tuberculosis). The response to the Covid-19 pandemic requires adjustments to other health program services, including TB services that are run at health care facilities. Indonesia is the country with the most Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia. Where people with Covid-19 and TB can show the same symptoms as cough, fever, and difficulty breathing. Both of these diseases attack mainly the lungs and both biological agents are transmitted through close contact or physical contact. Objective: to determine the relationship between science and tuberculosis prevention during the Covid-19 pandemic in the community. Methods: questionnaires on data collection techniques in quantitative research as community service and the role of health webinar participants in science and prevention of tuberculosis during the Covid-19 pandemic in the community. The media used is the website of the Pontianak Aisyiyah Polytechnic campus (Polita). This community service was carried out on February 4, 2021. Results: The number of participants who registered for the webinar was 1,498 people, where participants in the science category were in the very good category on tuberculosis and prevention 98.7% - 79.6%, good category on transmission with family and environment 65.2%-59.2%, and the lowest method of TB examination is 40.9%. Conclusion: This study involved webinar participants in knowledge and prevention of TB, the highest was 98.7% and the lowest was the method of TB examination, 40.9%, which was carried out in the laboratory. This National Health Webinar is a solution in handling knowledge and preventing Tuberculosis during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesian society.

Abstract

A community service program is a process of implementing the knowledge that has been learned in higher education to give many benefits to the community. One of the activities is in the form of social assistance. This activity aims to grow our awareness and social responsibility to give benefits to the community, especially in the orphanage environment. This community service program was held at Ar-Ridho Orphanage, Siantan. Some activities in the program are giving charity, motivation, and providing educational games for orphanage children. The community service program at Ar-Ridho Orphanage has finished smoothly, which is occurred by the active participation from all parties involved, Politeknik 'Aisyiyah Pontianak and the orphanage. This activity can strengthen the sense of brotherhood between educational institutions and social institutions.

Abstract

More than 1.5 billion people in the world experience helminthiasis and are found mostly in tropical and subtropical regions, where the highest incidence is in China, Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia, one of which is Indonesia. Worms are often associated with sanitation, education, socio-economic factors and daily behavior. As much as 12% of the total morbidity of students aged 5-14 years in developing countries is infected with worms, and at that age is the school period and is a group that is vulnerable to disease transmission. The prevalence of intestinal worms in Indonesia varies from 2.5% to 65%. This figure increases if the prevalence of helminthiasis is calculated in school-age children, to 80%. According to observations made, children in Sungai Kunyit Hulu Village, Mempawah Regency, where after observations in October 2022, 26 out of 45 children were positive for helminthiasis. Most elementary school children with poor socio-economic backgrounds have an unhealthy living environment. Hygiene issues are often neglected, especially hand hygiene issues. This activity aims to increase children's and parents' knowledge about the dangers of helminthiasis and their prevention through proper and proper hand washing. Counseling materials in the form of animated videos, SAP, leaflets, and power points. In addition, the organizing team also prepared equipment to be used for hand washing practice activities and a set of tools for helminth staining examination. Information dissemination on helminthiasis and good and correct hand washing practices are expected to increase prevention and reduce helminthiasis in the Sungai Kunyit Hulu Village area.
