Abstract

Artikel dalam tulisan ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran Rumah Budaya Tembi dalam melahirkan komposer-komposer muda. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data yang akan dilakukan dalam penelitian ini dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Sumber data ini diperoleh melalui informan, pustaka dan dokumen. Untuk menganalisis data penelitian ini, dilakukan dengan mereduksi data, penyajian data, memverifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Rumah Budaya Tembi berperan terhadap munculnya komposer muda melalui ajang festival yang diselenggarakan. Festival musik Tembi yang diselenggarakan setahun sekali ini mampu memberikan wadah bagi para komposer muda untuk mengekspresikan imajinasinya dengan menghadirkan karya seninya.

Abstract

Keberadaan sebuah kelompok orkestra simfoni membutuhkan beberapa faktor, selain sumber daya manusia yang bagus juga diperlukan strategi pemasaran yang tepat. Posisi pemasaran dalam hal ini bisa disebut sebagai perantara antara kelompok orkestra simfoni dengan penonton dalam melakukan transaksi untuk memuaskan kebutuhan dan keinginan penonton. Karena itu, setiap manajemen orkestra dituntut untuk berpikir kreatif dan strategis untuk menjaga keberlanjutan kelompoknya. Peneliti an ini bertujuan menganalisa pemasaran yang dilakukan oleh Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra dengan teknik SWOT dari faktor lingkungan internal dan eksternal yang dihadapi oleh pengelola JSO selama ini. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui teknik wawancara mendalam terhadap 6 narasumber dan observasi serta didukung dengan data kuantitatif dari survei 100 penonton JSO yang diambil dalam dua pertunjukan. Secara spesifik sebagai studi awal analisis di dalam penelitian ini mendeskripsikan produk, tempat, harga, dan promosi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah rekomendasi untuk membuat pertunjukan terjadwal dalam satu tahun, pengelola an penonton yang berkelanjutan dengan membuat wadah keanggotaan penonton tetap, dan memberikan perhatian lebih kepada penonton dari anggota jemaat, serta membuat program yang menarik dengan sering mendatangkan musisi internasional. The existence of a symphony orchestra groups requires several factor. In addition to good human resources, appropriate marketing strategies are also required. Marketing position in this case can be called as an intermediary between symphony orchestra group and the audience in the transaction to satisfy the need and desires of the audience. Therefore, ev ery orchestra management is required to think creatively and strategically in maintaining the sustainability of its group. This study aims to analisys the marketing conducted by Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra with SWOT technique from internal and external environment factors faced by JSO manager so far. The method used is descriptive qualitative method trhough indepth interview technique to 6 resource person and observation. This study is also suported by quantitatif data from survey 100 JSO audiences taken from two perfomances. As an initial study, the analisys in this study specifically d escribes the product, place, price, and promotion. The results of this studsy shows that a schedule one-year performance, an ongoing permanent audience membership management, special attention given to the audience of the congregation members, and managing interisting program by involving internasional musicians are recommended as the marketing strategy of the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra groups.

Abstract

Performing arts venues are one of the public spaces essential to developing the human spirit. Almost all performing arts buildings in Indonesia are old Dutch heritage. One of the public spaces for performing arts in the city of Bandung is the Rumenteng Siang building. This place was previously the old building of the former Rivoli Cinema, which was later used as an arts performance space. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, which discusses the facilities and existence of this public space. The result of this research is the discovery that Rumenteng Siang has experienced a decline in the number of viewers. One of the leading causes is the lack of quality art performances presented in the building. Apart from that, the lack of adequate facilities for art presenters is also an obstacle. Inadequate facilities can reduce the performance quality and the audience's interest in attending the event. Not only that, the lack of comfortable facilities for visitors also reduces the existence of this public space. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve facilities and the quality of performing arts presented at Rumenteng Siang. It can be done through collaboration between management, government, and the arts community to improve facilities and present quality arts performances. In this way, it is hoped that Rumenteng Siang can maintain its existence as an essential public space in developing the human spirit through art

Abstract

This study analyzes the performance of the West Bandung Regency contingent at the Pekan Olahraga Provinsi (PORPROV) XIV Jawa Barat. It specifically focuses on how the strategic integration of music selection and thematic presentation might improve the overall performance. The marching band sport involves teams competing in four competitions. The competitions include Lomba Baris Berbaris (LBB) Marching Competition, Lomba Unjuk Gelar (LUG), Lomba Berbaris Jarak Pendek / Short Distance Marching Competition (LBJP), and Lomba Ketahanan dan Ketepatan Berbaris (LKKB) / The Endurance and Accuracy Marching Competition. In order to effectively engage audiences and judges, bands must enhance and perfect their aesthetic and thematic techniques as the level of competition increases. The study utilized a qualitative research methodology, which involved active involvement and careful observation for analysis. We participated in marching band activities and closely observed practices and performances in order to acquire a thorough comprehension of the aesthetic and conceptual components. Data were gathered via observations, and discussions and examined using an analytical framework rooted in the literature on music aesthetics and performance art. This framework evaluated the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and visual depiction. The results emphasize the significance of carefully choosing music, maintaining theme consistency, and using visual components to provide a captivating performance. The topic chosen by the West Bandung contingent, "Flight and Movement," together with their smart selection of music, showcased the ability of thoughtful curation and dynamic arrangements to amplify the story and emotional resonance. The utilization of intensive rehearsals and coordinated visual elements had a pivotal role in attaining elevated levels of audience engagement and competitive triumph.

Abstract

This study examines transforming Barasuara's "Guna Manusia" from a folk-rock song into a brass band arrangement. It analyzes its cultural and sociological ramifications using Pierre Bourdieu's theory of cultural reproduction. The project aims to investigate the impact of song adaptation on audience perception, involvement, and awareness of environmental issues. The research utilizes a comprehensive technique that combines descriptive analysis and literature review. The process of descriptive analysis entails the examination of YouTube videos showcasing both the original and brass band renditions of "Guna Manusia" to comprehend the musical alterations and gauge the audience's reactions. A literature review is placed on findings within appropriate theoretical frameworks and examines prior research on music adaptation and cultural replication. The analysis demonstrates that by converting "Guna Manusia" into a brass band arrangement, its cultural importance is enhanced, and its accessibility is broadened to a broad spectrum of audiences. Descriptive analysis reveals that the brass band adaption successfully communicates the song's environmental message through instrumental expression. Bourdieu's theory demonstrates how cultural reproduction impacts the adaptation process and affects the audience's reception. The study highlights the educational and societal significance of employing music to promote environmental advocacy. It showcases how Barasuara's rendition of "Guna Manusia" actively helps increase awareness and encourage transformative change within society. The research offers unique insights into the profound impact of music and its role in tackling urgent social problems.

Abstract

Dunia pendidikan tinggi di tanah air mengalami perubahan paradigma sejak diselenggarakannya kebijakan Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka. Program MSIB (Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat) adalah salah satu program unggulan Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi yang bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan mahasiswa dalam lingkungan dunia kerja nyata. Artikel ini mendeksripsikan proses produksi luaran dari Kegiatan MSIB 2023 yang dilakukan di PT. Selingkar Literasi Sayang Keluarga (Mitra PT. Sebangku Jaya Abadi). Musik Latar “Maleo Tidak Sendiri” disusun berdasarkan penugasan Peserta Program MSIB 2023 yaitu Produser Musik. Musik disusun sebagai musik latar untuk Project Motion comic berjudul Maleo Tidak Sendiri yang diproduksi oleh Yuniar Khairani, penulis naskah segaligus Kepala Divisi Kreatif  PT. Selingkar Literasi Sayang Keluarga. Penelitian menggunakan metode artistik dengan pendekatan Practice Based Research. Tahapan penelitian yaitu: perancangan, pengadaptasian, uji-coba, dan penerapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya manfaat dari program MSIB yaitu menjembatani kesenjangan antara pembelajaran akademis dan penerapan dunia nyata dengan memungkinkan individu untuk mengembangkan keterampilan di bidang produksi musik. Program MSIB juga memungkinkan penulis menjalin hubungan dengan profesional, mentor, dan sesama peserta magang.Kata kunci: Musik latar, Maleo Tidak Sendiri, Motion comic, Practice Based Research, Produksi Musik

Abstract

 Transformasi digital telah membuka peluang inovatif dalam pembiayaan pertunjukan seni, salah satunya melalui pemanfaatan platform crowdfunding. Mekanisme ini memungkinkan pelaku seni, termasuk kelompok orkestra simfoni untuk mengakses sumber pendanaan langsung dari masyarakat tanpa bergantung sepenuhnya pada sponsor tradisional atau institusi pemerintah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model dan strategi crowdfunding yang efektif dalam sektor pertunjukan seni dengan fokus khusus pada kelompok orkestra simfoni. Melalui metode studi pustaka dan tinjauan literatur, kajian ini mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan seperti keterlibatan audiens, transparansi kampanye, serta tantangan dalam mengimplementasikan, termasuk kompetisi di dalam platform dan kesulitan dalam mencapai target pendanaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan crowdfunding tidak hanya meningkatkan aksesibilitas dalam pembiayaan tetapi juga memperkuat hubungan antara kelompok orkestra simfoni dengan komunitasnya melalui partisipasi aktif publik. Selain itu, strategi digital ini dapat memperluas jangkauan audiens dan menciptakan basis pendukung yang lebih berkelanjutan. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam memahami dinamika pembiayaan alternatif pada kelompok orkestra simfoni di era digital, sekaligus menawarkan rekomendasi praktis untuk mengoptimalkan potensi menggunakan crowdfunding dalam mendukung keberlanjutan finansial dan artistik pada perencanaan program pertunjukan kelompok orkestra simfoni.  Crowdfunding Financing Models for Symphony Orchestras in the Digital Era 4.0 ABSTRACTThe digital transformation has created innovative opportunities in the financing of performing arts, particularly through the use of crowdfunding platforms. This mechanism enables art practitioners, including symphony orchestras, to obtain funding directly from the public without relying entirely on traditional sponsors or governmental institutions. This study aims to examine effective crowdfunding models and strategies within the performing arts sector, with a specific focus on symphony orchestras. Through a literature review approach, this research identifies key success factors, including audience engagement, campaign transparency, and common implementation challenges such as competition within platforms and difficulties in achieving funding targets. The results of this study indicate that crowdfunding not only enhances access to financial resources but also strengthens the relationship between symphony orchestras and their communities through active public involvement. Furthermore, this digital strategy has the potential to broaden audience reach and build a more sustainable supporter base. This study offers theoretical contributions to the understanding of alternative financing dynamics for symphony orchestras in the digital age, while also providing practical recommendations for optimizing the use of crowdfunding to support both financial and artistic sustainability in symphony orchestra performance planning.
