Abstract

Urban territorial expansion and forest disclosure are two examples of large-scale modifications necessary because of population growth and the rising demand for land. The paper analyzes the various facets of urban development and the essential role that hydrology plays in planning construction projects and water infrastructure. Hydrology study becomes essential for engineers designing and developing structures involving water resources, especially when flood conditions arise. The paper explores two commonly used flood hydrograph approaches, the Nakayasu Synthetic and the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) Unit Synthetic, concentrating on the design of flood discharge and its significance in flood management. The study provides insight into the feasibility of existing hydrograph techniques for determining flood discharge and is based on bibliometric data from earlier studies.

Abstract

Traffic congestion is a worldwide problem caused by population growth, heavy traffic due to the mixing of public, regional, and local transit traffic, and insufficient road capacity to accommodate the amount of transportation. This research aims to determine the impact of traffic congestion on road users' perception of Gadjah Mada Street (Pura Agung Amerta Bhuana - UIB) in Batam City. The methods used in this research are quantitative and qualitative. The data source used in this research is primary data. Primary data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to road users containing questions related to the impact of traffic congestion. Based on research that has been conducted, traffic congestion can have an effect on the economy, psychology, and productivity of road users.

Abstract

The construction of the Sulit Air Road - Rawang, Sawahlunto City, is expected to be a solution to shorten travel time and ensure the comfort and safety of road users. The data used in this paper uses secondary data. Using the Bina Marga method, this journal aims to redesign the Sulit Air Road – Rawang, Sawahlunto City at STA 6+300 – STA 6+600. The study results show that the Sulit Air – Rawang is a class collector primer Road with flat terrain with a width of 4.5 m, design parameters design speed (VR) of 60 km/hour, and a maximum slope (e) of 8%. From the calculations, the design radius (R) is 350 m. The curved horizontal length (Lc) is 87.120 m. In this journal, the authors take the FC (Full Circle) type of curved horizontal line that is safe for the rider according to the conditions in the field.

Abstract

Water pollution in Java Island is an urgent issue that has a serious impact on public health and the environment. Although several studies have been conducted, there are still gaps in the understanding of more specific health impacts and related environmental impacts. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the impact of water pollution on the island of Java with a focus on public health and the environment. The literature review method is used to analyze and synthesize the relevant literature. The impact of water pollution on public health includes water-related diseases and chronic health problems. Impacts on the environment include damage to aquatic ecosystems and decreased biodiversity. The results and discussion of this study identify several previous studies that have been conducted in Java, but there is still a need for research that is more focused and holistic. This research provides a comprehensive picture of the impact of water pollution on the island of Java and provides a basis for developing policies and actions that are effective in reducing the negative impact.

Abstract

Ciawi – Sukabumi toll road become one of the alternative routes to reduce traffic congestion which was originally focused on the national roads before. Considering the hilly contour of the Ciawi – Sukabumi toll road, road conditions must be in accordance with the standards to support vehicle and driver performance. The research methodology used in this journal is to collect field data for the Ciawi – Sukabumi Toll Road Project Section 1 Package 1 (STA -0+750 to STA 4+850), both vertical alignment data, horizontal alignment, road width, and speed plan. The geometric analysis of toll roads Ciawi – Sukabumi Toll Road Project Section 1 Package 1 (STA -0+750 to STA 4+850) also considers factors such as sight distance, design speed, and safety considerations. Adequate sight distance is crucial for drivers to anticipate and respond to potential hazards, while the design speed ensures that the road is designed to support safe travel at desired speeds. Safety considerations encompass aspects like radius of curvature, signage, markings, and other measures to enhance road safety.
