Abstract

Fire is the out-of-control burning method of flammable substances, which includes wood, paper, plastic, fuel, or different substances, which produce heat, mild smoke, and toxic gases. Fires can occur, including woodland fires caused by lightning or because of human activities, along with building fires due to electric short circuits or errors in the use of fire. In building design, it is miles vital to apprehend the elements that cause fires and the fireplace's resistance to materials. Metal is a form of metallic made from a primary mixture of iron (Fe) and carbon (C), with the amount of carbon typically being much less than 2 per cent of its general weight. Steel is a very common fabric used in a spread of applications due to its aggregate of robust, long-lasting, and malleable properties.

Abstract

One of the nicknames of the Batam City is an industrial city, a city that experiences very fast population growth every year, this also affects the volume of vehicles on the main roads of the Batam City, one of which is the traffic on Jalan Ahmad Yani to be precise in front of the Panbil Industrial estate gate. Access to the Panbil Industrial Estate is located right in front of the u-turn location, drivers heading to Panbil Industrial Estate from the south and drivers wanting to leave Panbil Industrial Estate heading south, two directions with the same route which will cause congestion and queues for vehicles moving in the same direction as the vehicle before maneuvering to turn around or for vehicles on other lanes as a result of the vehicle's maneuvers. This study aims to determine how much influence the vehicle's turning maneuver has on road performance, as well as evaluate the traffic characteristics due to U-Turn.

Abstract

U-Turn is used as a special access for drivers who want to change lanes while they are moving. However, the problem that often occurs is this. Intersections can be the main cause of congestion on the road. In the case of the U-Turn on Jalan Gajah Mada. Traffic jams are often caused by this, especially in the afternoon during working hours. According to the 1997 Indonesia Road Capacity Manual, this study attempts to evaluate the performance of intersections and determine whether they are the main cause of persistent traffic congestion. The techniques used to obtain data are observation and documentation. The results showed that the road capacity value was 1311 pcu/hour. Value of traffic volume direction Baloi – Tiban 1421 pcu/hour. 16.00 - 18.00 is like making a U-turn with an average travel time of 08'36".

Abstract

Road geometric planning focuses on two important points, horizontal and vertical alignment, to fulfill the road function, providing optimal comfort according to the planned speed. In this paper, the authors carry out a geometric analysis of horizontally curved roads on Weleri - Patean Road (65+850 - 67+850) using the Bina Marga Guidelines. The planning results show that the horizontal alignment has two bend designs using the Full Circle (FC) bend type with a first bend radius of 716 m, a second bend radius of 819 m, and a maximum superelevation of 10%.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has many beautiful places that made Indonesia famous for the tourism industry. Connecting road between Jalan Samarang and Jalan Simirih is made to support residents’ economic activities as more tourists come. This research is purposed to design geometric roads, especially horizontal alignment according to “Guidelines For Road Geometric Design 2021”. The road that will be made from STA 0+000 to STA 0+715 with objective data in 2022 using AutoCAD® 2D. This road planning uses quantitative data divided into primary and secondary data. Abstract

The road is a facility that is very important for the community to achieve a desired goal, for that we need a road that is safe and comfortable for its use. Road damage often occurs every year, especially on roads that are often traversed by vehicles with a lot of volume (congested) and vehicles that are heavily loaded (overloaded) such as on the Sukahaji-Maja Road, which causes the speed of users to slow down (drop) and have an impact on reducing population mobility and the economy of the surrounding community. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of road damage using the Payment Condition Index (PCI) method. The survey method or PCI refers to ASTM D6433 (Standard Practice for Roads and Parking Lots Pavement Condition Surveys). Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is a road pavement condition assessment system based on the type, level, and extent of damage that occurs and can be used as a reference in maintenance efforts. This PCI value has a range of 0 to 100 with the criteria of excellent, very good, good, fair, poor, very poor, and failed. Based on the analysis using the PCI method, for the type of damage that occurs on the Sukahaji-Maja Road for the flexible pavement/asphalt type, 6 types of damage occur, namely alligator cracking, striping, grain release, collapse, vanished, and potholes. In Table 4.2 the average PCI value obtained is then entered into the parameters as in the table so that the road can be categorized as damaged, namely Poor (Damaged). So, this road needs to be included in a road improvement program on an ongoing basis.
