Abstract

The performance of employees is crucial for the success in achieving the organization's targets. When employee performance is good, the organization's performance will also be good, and conversely, if employee performance is poor, the organization's performance will decline. Many factors can influence employee performance, one of which is the leadership style of the employee's leaders, which in this study is about transformational leadership. The role of transformational leadership includes providing inspiration and motivation for employees to develop themselves, ultimately leading to their best efforts. The purpose of this study was to review systematically the existing research on transformational leadership and its relation to performance. This study is a literature review that attempts to examine research related to the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. This study traced researches related to transformational leadership from 2013 to 2023. The findings obtained are that transformational leadership, through its four dimensions, can influence performance. This study will offer opportunities for further empirical research, related to other leadership style that can affect employee performance.

Abstract

Company performance is an important component in a wide range of empirical research, particularly business policy research. The performance of the company is essentially a complex phenomenon with multiple dimensions and known to be correlated with job satisfaction among healthcare professionals. Therefore, understanding the factors associated with job satisfaction is important. The purpose of this study was to analyze the antecedents of job satisfaction and analyze their impact on hospital performance from the perspective of healthcare professionals. This research was conducted at XYZ Hospital. This research method is a quantitative study with a total sample of 160 healthcare professionals respondents who meet the research criteria. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling method and data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires online. The data obtained were analyzed using SmartPLS. The results of this study indicate that there are five independent variables as antecedents of job satisfaction. These variables are social support, work operation requirements, healthcare professional-patient relationship, work-family conflict, and working conditions. In social support variables, work operation requirements, healthcare professional-patient relationship, and working conditions have a positive effect on job satisfaction and have a significant effect while the work-family conflict variable also has a significant impact but has a negative effect on job satisfaction (T-statistic>1.645 and P-value <0.05). In addition, job satisfaction also significantly-positively affects hospital performance (T-statistic>1.645 and P-value <0.05). Furthermore, job satisfaction is significant (T-statistic>1.645 and P-value <0.05) mediates social support, healthcare professional-patient relationship, work-family conflict, and working conditions on hospital performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Service Quality, Physical Environment, and Medical Staff Kindness & Consideration on Patient Loyalty with Patient Satisfaction as a mediating variable at the General Hospital of Serui (RSUD Serui). The study employs a quantitative approach with a sample of 160 patients selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that Service Quality, Medical Staff Kindness & Consideration, and Physical Environment have a positive and significant effect on Patient Satisfaction. Furthermore, Patient Satisfaction mediates the relationship between these variables and Patient Loyalty. Specifically, improvements in service quality, the friendly and attentive behavior of medical staff, and a comfortable and clean physical environment significantly contribute to enhancing patient satisfaction, which in turn strengthens their loyalty to the hospital. The implications of this study suggest that RSUD Serui should focus on improving service quality, providing communication and empathy training for medical staff, and enhancing physical facilities to create a positive patient experience. This study provides strategic insights for the management of RSUD Serui to strengthen patient loyalty through satisfaction derived from service quality, physical environment, and positive staff interactions. Managerial implications from this study indicate that the management of RSUD Serui should pay more attention to improving service quality, the comfort of facilities, and the empathy of medical staff to increase patient satisfaction and loyalty. Training in communication and empathy for medical staff, improving ventilation systems and cleanliness of facilities, and utilizing technology for administrative efficiency are strategic steps that can strengthen long-term relationships with patients.
