Abstract

Anxiety is one of the factors that is believed to affect performance and achievement in learning subjects. However, the belief is still debatable. The fact that many students around the world consider that mathematics is a difficult subject. This study explores the effects of math anxiety towards math performance and math achievement. By understanding this connection, it is expected that the teacher will be able to take appropriate steps in teaching mathematics. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, 15 articles were sorted and selected based on the required criteria, the data taken from the Google Scholar database, within search strings from 2019 to 2023. The results showed some points that the math anxiety scales used depending on the participant's characteristics in each study, 8 main factors driving the emergence of math anxiety and math anxiety affects math performance and achievement, especially at higher grade levels.

Abstract

Education aims to improve the quality of human life which is technically done through lectures. Good lectures will produce students' ability to learn continuously through their environment. The lecture process is composed of components that are interconnected with each other. The role of lecturers in teaching is very important. The interaction between lecturers and students during lectures plays an important role in achieving goals. Vector Analysis is a subject that plays an important role in the Mathematics family. Many mathematics students think that the Vector Analysis course is difficult. Lecture success can be measured from the level of conceptual understanding of the lecture material. However, in reality, the conceptual understanding of the Vector Analysis course achieved by mathematics students is still low. Vector Analysis lectures at the Tadris Mathematics Study Program, Raden Mas Said Surakarta State Islamic University have not been able to increase students' understanding of the concepts of Vector Analysis. The factor that causes students' low understanding of concepts in learning Vector Analysis is lectures that are centered on lecturers. The aim of this research is to increase students' conceptual understanding of vector analysis courses through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL). This research is a qualitative descriptive group with the type of Classroom Action Research. The data used are field notes and documentation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is an increase in understanding of the concept of Vector Analysis through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL).

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah salah satu upaya untuk menggalakkan pemanfaatan media digital dalam pembelajaran. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 11 Guru SMAN 1 Nunukan yang telah memberikan persetujuan untuk mengikuti seluruh rangkaian kegiatan. Tahapan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi mendesain telegram bot, membuat konten pada menu telegram bot, sosialisasi media pembelajaran telegram bot, uji coba media pembelajaran, dan survei persepsi guru. Hasil survei menunjukkan guru memberikan respon positif terhadap pemanfaatan Telegram Bot sebagai media pembelajaran. Pemanfaatan Telegram Bot dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif pemanfaatan media digital untuk pengajaran. Disisi lain, Telegram Bot hanya dapat dioperasikan dalam moda luring hal ini menjadi tantangan dalam pemanfaatannya dalam pembelajaran.
