Abstract

The study was conducted to develop science module based on project-based learning that is feasible to be implemented in science learning and has potency to build critical thinking skills of junior high school students. The study was Research and Development (RnD), modified from Borg and Gall steps covering only research and information collecting, planning, preliminary form of product development, expert judgment, product revision, and final product. The subjects were 2 expert lecturers (content expert and media expert) and 2 science teachers of SMP N 1 Wonosari. The types of data were quantitative and qualitative. Data were collected by means of SSP validation sheets and disaster preparedness identification sheets. The techniques of data analysis were descriptive analysis of qualitative and quantitative to 5 grading scale. The result of the study shows that science module is feasible to be implemented in science learning and has potency to build critical thinking skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

Banyaknya rumus fisika yang harus dikuasai membuat siswa bosan belajar fisika dan materi yang diajarkan. Metode Mnemonik dianggap sebagai metode yang cocok untuk digunakan di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan kemampuan menghafal rumus fisika setelah diajar menggunakan metode mnemonik dan praktek. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP IT AR-RAHMAN Majalengka pada kelas VIII T.P. 2020/2021 yang melibatkan subjek sebanyak 34 siswa terbagi ke dalam dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen belajar dengan pembelajaran mnemonik dan kelas kontrol belajar dengan pembelajaran praktek. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Quasi Experiment dan desain penelitian two group randomized subject pretest dan posttest. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes kemampuan menghafal rumus-rumus fisika dan kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji N-gain, Uji Wilcoxon, dan uji t dua pihak.Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan menghafal rumus fisika pada materi tekanan zat antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran mnemonik dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran praktek.

Abstract

Background: BUMDes is a rural economic empowerment platform that cultivates various village potentials. Under the coordination of BUMDes, it is expected that all economic empowerment will be carried out following the needs of rural communities to increase the economy and income of the community and village. This mentoring activity aims to enable farmers to utilize cow dung in compost as organic fertilizer for agricultural commodity crops in Gunungmanik Village. Method: The exercises provided are counseling and assistance in making compost. The target of this activity is members of BumDes Manik Mandiri Desa Gunungmanik. Results: The activities carried out are as follows: 1) Giving presentations and discussing with the participants, 2) Conduct field practice of making compost. The action will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 25-26, 2021, at 10.00 - 16.00 WIB. Conclusion: The benefits of this PPM activity are that participants know and understand how to make and use compost and make plans to make compost as a BUMDES business unit.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills on Indonesian ecology and biodiversity material in class VII. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). This PTK is carried out by applying a project-based learning model as an action to improve students' critical thinking skills. The sample of this study amounted to 29 students. This research instrument is a critical thinking skills test instrument. The results showed an increase in each indicator of critical thinking skills from each cycle and classical completeness of students' critical thinking skills which initially 43% in cycle 1 increased to 82% in cycle 2. Therefore, it can be concluded that the project-based learning model is considered as an effective solution to improve students' critical thinking skills and based on the findings in this study, students' critical thinking skills that are improved through project-based learning meet the success criteria.

Abstract

Rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman terhadap materi yang diajarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dengan materi Struktur Lapisan Bumi melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning yang dikombinasikan dengan pendekatan diferensiasi di kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 1 Depok, Kabupaten Cirebon, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan subjek sebanyak 32 peserta didik dan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Pada siklus I, sebanyak 11 peserta didik (34,38%) mencapai ketuntasan, sementara 21 peserta didik (65,63%) belum tuntas. Pada siklus II, terjadi peningkatan dengan 25 peserta didik (78,13%) yang tuntas dan 7 peserta didik (21,88%) yang belum tuntas. Dengan demikian, terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 43,75% dari siklus I ke siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Problem Based Learning yang terintegrasi dengan diferensiasi efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi Struktur Lapisan Bumi di kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 1 Depok.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mereduksi tingkat kejenuhan belajar siswa kelas VIII di MTSN 10 Cirebon, akibat adanya pembelajaran jarak jauh karena penyebaran COVID-19 yang semakin meluas, banyak peserta didik yang sulit memahami materi yang dijelaskan guru pada saat pelajaran berlangsung. Hingga satu tahun lebih pembelajaran daring dilakukan membuat siswa merasa bosan dan jenuh menghadapi masa sekolah yang tidak menyenangkan. Banyak guru yang tidak memahami pembelajaran inovatif. Maka penggunaan media pembelajaran berupa aplikasi Edpuzzle adalah alternatifnya, di mana Edpuzzle merupakan media pembelajaran yang interaktif anatar peserta didik dan gurunya. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian jenus kuantitatif bermetode eksperimen dengan desain Quasi Eksperimental Design bentuk Nonequivalen control design anatar kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Diperoleh berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat dilihat dari uji N- Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 62,799 kategori sedang dan N-Gain kelas kontrol sebesar 61,8697 dengan kategori sedang. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis untuk memperkuat hasil penelitian yaitu kelas eskperimen memiliki Asymp Sig lebih kecil < dari 0,05 maka hipotesis diterima. Dengan keterangan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Edpuzzle berjalan efektif dalam upaya menurunkan tingkat kejenuhan belajar peserta didikn pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII di MTs Negeri 10 Cirebon.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas 1) untuk mengetahui efektivitas SDL berbasis literasi digital terhadap pembelajaran IPA. 2) untuk mengetahui apakah SDL berbasis literasi digital mampu menguatkan pemahaman konsep dalam pembelajaran IPA pada saat pandemi covid-19 di SMPN 2 Sumber. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Analisis data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari proses mencari dan menyusun data secara sistematis, data yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan pengumpulan data lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) penerapan SDL berbasis literasi digital kurang efektif akibat adanya beberapa faktor yang ditemukan selama proses penelitian berlangsung. 2) Pembelajaran SDL berbasis literasi digital tidak mampu menguatkan pemahaman konsep pembelajaran IPA siswa kelas IX di SMPN 2 sumber karena ada faktor penghambat yang cukup berarti.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of differentiated learning using the PhET virtual laboratory on students' critical thingking skills in vibration and waves. This research uses quantitative experimental research methods with a non-equivalent control group design. This research used two classes with a sample size of 40, consisting of 20 experimental class students and 20 control class students. The instruments used for differentiated learning are diagnostic assessments and formative assessments. Meanwhile, the critical thingking skills test instrument consists of 20 pretest and posttest questions. Data were processed statistically non-parametrically using the Wilcoxon Test and N-Gain Test. The results of the research show that there is an influence of differentiated learning using the PhET virtual laboratory on students' critical thinking skills in vibration and waves as evidenced by the Asmp value. Sig 0.000. No students experienced a decrease in learning outcomes and experienced an increase of 30%. The effectiveness of differentiated learning that is applied has an effect of 61% in the "quite effective" category.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills constitute fundamental competencies that students must develop to meet the demands of twenty-first-century education. However, science instruction in Indonesian junior high schools frequently lacks integration of local cultural contexts, thereby impeding students' capacity to connect scientific concepts to authentic real-world situations. This study aimed to examine the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated with the ethnoscience of Cirebon terasi (fermented shrimp paste) production on the critical thinking skills of junior high school science students. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group arrangement was employed. Participants comprised 68 seventh-grade students from SMPN 1 Cirebon, randomly assigned to an experimental group (n = 34) receiving PBL integrated with ethnoscience instruction and a control group (n = 34) receiving conventional instruction. Data were gathered using a validated critical thinking skills instrument based on Facione's six-dimensional framework, encompassing interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. The instrument demonstrated high content validity (CVR = 0.87) and reliability (Cronbach's α = 0.89). Results indicated a statistically significant difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental and control groups (t(66) = 11.42, p < 0.001), with normalized gain (N-gain) values of 0.72 (high category) and 0.35 (medium category), respectively, and a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 2.64). The greatest improvement was observed in the evaluation dimension (N-gain = 0.78). Furthermore, 87.6% of students expressed positive responses toward the ethnoscience-integrated PBL approach. These findings confirm that contextualizing science learning within the local wisdom of Cirebon terasi production through PBL significantly enhances critical thinking skills, thereby offering a culturally responsive and pedagogically robust model for science education in Indonesian junior high schools.
