Abstract

Background : Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a malignant disease in blood-forming organs and is the most common type of cancer in children. In Hemato Oncology Room Tulip III A Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin in 2016 there are 88 children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The phenomenon that occurs is the child feels pain due to side effects of chemotherapy. Emotional support of the family to the child is needed, because the positive feeling or energy provided to make children feel safe, peaceful, and loved, so as to reduce or minimize the pain felt by the child.Objective : To know the relation of emotional support of family with level of pain in child Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia due to chemotherapy in Hemato Oncology Room Tulip III A Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. Method : This research is a quantitative research with cross sectional design. The research population is family and children Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia who experience pain due to chemotherapy at Hemato Oncology Room Tulip III A Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique that is 30 respondents. Data collection used questionnaire method and observation sheet. Data analysis used Spearman Rank test analysis at α = 0,05.Results : From the 30 respondents who provided emotional support to the acute lymphoblastic leukemia family, 18 respondents (60.0%) often gave emotional support to their families. Level of pain in children Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia due to chemotherapy of 30 respondents / children who showed moderate pain is 19 respondents (63.3%). Spearman Rank correlation coefficient shows 0,380 significance 0,038 with () 0,05.Conclusion : There is a correlation between the emotional support of the family and the level of pain in children Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia due to chemotherapy (p = 0.038). Keywords : Child, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Family Emotional Support, Pain Rate

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu kegawatdaruratan yang sering menimpa anak usia dini adalah tersedak sehingga perlu kesiapan dalam penanganan secara cepat dan tepat pada kasus tersedak yang dapat meningkatkan keberhasilan dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan melakukan pemberdayaan masyarakat terutama pada guru dan orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini dalam penanganan kasus tersedak pada anak. Metode pendekatan yang dilakukan berupa pendidikan kesehatan dengan ceramah, diskusi, dan demonstrasi penatalaksanaan tersedak pada bayi dan anak. Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan pada tanggal 7 Desember 2021 bertempat di TK Pembina Banjarmasin. Peserta terdiri dari guru dan orang tua siswa sebanyak 18 orang yang terdiri 7 guru dan 11 orang tua siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan secara bertahap, yaitu penyuluhan terkait tersedak melalui ceramah dan diskusi, dilanjutkan pemutaran video dan mendemonstrasikan teknik penanganan tersedak, evaluasi dilakukan dengan memberikan kuesioner kepada peserta di awal (pre-test) dan di akhir (post-test). Berdasarkan hasil pengabdian masyarakat yang tim lakukan didapatkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan guru dan orang tua dalam penanganan tersedak dilihat dari perubahan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh, yaitu sebelum diberikan edukasi sebesar 8,44 dan setelah pemberian edukasi meningkat sebesar 9,67. Saran dari hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini perlunya pertimbangan pihak sekolah untuk menciptakan kesadaran guru dan memasukkan kursus pertolongan pertama darurat tersedak dalam kurikulum. Kata kunci: pengetahuan; tanggap darurat; tersedak; taman kanak-kanak One of the emergencies that often afflicts early childhood is choking, so it is necessary to be prepared for quick and appropriate treatment in cases of choking which can increase success and survival rates. The purpose of this community service is to empower the community, especially teachers and parents who have early childhood in handling cases of choking in children. The approach method used is in the form of health education with lectures, discussions, and demonstrations on the management of choking in infants and children. The implementation of this community service was carried out on December 7, 2021 at the TK Pembina Banjarmasin. Participants consisted of 18 teachers and parents consisting of 7 teachers and 11 students' parents. Community service activities are carried out in stages, namely counseling related to choking through lectures and discussions, followed by video playback and demonstration of choking handling techniques, evaluation is carried out by giving questionnaires to participants at the beginning (pre-test) and at the end (post-test). Based on the results of the community service that the team did, it was found that there was an increase in the knowledge of teachers and parents in handling choking seen from the change in the average value obtained, namely before being given education it was 8.44 and after giving education it increased by 9.67. Suggestions from the results of this community service need consideration from the school to create teacher awareness and include choking emergency first aid courses in the curriculum. Keywords: knowledge; emergency response; choking; kindergarten

Abstract

Choking causes children to have difficulty breathing, which, if left too long, the body can experience a lack of oxygen, resulting in death. Knowledge and skills are needed for teachers and parents, especially those with early childhood, in the proper handling of choking to increase success and survival rates. Good knowledge makes individuals more confident in the actions they will take. Self-efficacy influences the steps a person will take. This study aimed to determine the relationship between teachers' and parents' knowledge and self-efficacy in providing children first aid when they choke at Kindergarten Pembina Banjarmasin. This study used an observational research method with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection tool in the form of a questionnaire. The sample used in this study was 83 respondents (consisting of 12 teachers and 71 parents of students). Data analysis will be carried out using univariate analysis with a frequency distribution to see the demographics of respondents and bivariate analysis with chi-square. The results obtained were that the majority of 78.3% of respondents had good knowledge, 80.7% of the majority of respondents had high self-efficacy, and there was a significant relationship between Knowledge and Self-efficacy of teachers and parents in providing first aid for children when choking (p-value 0.000; α 0.05). It is vital to increase knowledge which can later increase self-efficacy for teachers and parents in providing choking treatment for children.

Abstract

School infirmary (UKS) is a forum for organizing programs that provide health services to students at school, especially in emergency cases before receiving further services. Emergencies require fast and precise treatment. For this reason, health education and education programs are needed in schools, especially in providing emergency treatment to UKS cadres. Community service activities aim to increase the knowledge and skills of UKS cadres in providing emergency care that occurs in schools and providing optimal health services in schools. The method used in this community service is lectured in the form of health education through counseling and demonstrations related to first aid measures for emergency cases that can occur at school, such as fainting, wounds and bleeding, broken bones, and cardiac arrest. Community service activities will be held on July 2 2024 with the target of the activity being Nahdatul Ulama Middle School students and UKS cadres. Community service activities begin with a lecture related to the concept and handling of everyday emergencies that might occur at school, followed by a demonstration of handling techniques, as well as questions and answers. Evaluation is carried out by giving questionnaires at the beginning (pre) and end (post) to participants. As well as a re-demonstration of the first actions for handling emergency cases.

Abstract

Sleep-wake disorders in the elderly cause poor sleep quality, contribute to worsening disease conditions, increase fatigue and weakness, increase the risk of falls and cause injury. Music, one of the relaxation techniques, helps improve sleep quality because it is accessible. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of music on sleep quality in the elderly. This research is a simple narrative literature review conducted using conceptual analysis techniques. Articles were selected through the PRISMA chart with the criteria; article related to music intervention on sleep quality in the elderly, 2010-2020 publication, design: pre-experimental type, quasi-experimental and RCT. A total of 13 articles were obtained from the ScienceDirect, PubMed, and GoogleScholar databases. Seeing the effect of music intervention actions such as sessions, duration, and duration of giving, music with soft characteristics can improve the sleep quality of the elderly. The choice of music must be considered as a way to achieve maximum relaxed conditions. Music facilitates a state of relaxation, making the elderly gets more efficient and easier to fall asleep. Music with soft characteristics can improve sleep quality and is recommended as an alternative to improve the sleep quality of the elderly.

Abstract

Abstract The chronic disease that the use of a mechanical ventilator can cause is pneumonia. Using a ventilator for a long time in the ICU is at risk of developing a nosocomial infection called ventilator-associated pneumonia. However, bundle care prevention strategies have proven to be highly effective in reducing the incidence of VAP. One of the factors in nurses' running bundle care is knowledge of VAP prevention strategies. This research aimed to describe and analyze the nursing team's knowledge of ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention strategies. This type of research was quantitative research with a descriptive method. The sample of this study consisted of nurses in the ICU room of Ulin Hospital, Banjarmasin, and 73 people were selected using the Total Sampling technique. Data collection will be done using a questionnaire, data analysis, and frequency distribution. This study showed that the level of knowledge of ICU nurses at Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin regarding VAP prevention strategies was in a suitable category: 51 people (69.8%), moderate ten people (13.7%), and 12 people (16.5%) lacking. Nurses in the ICU room at Ulin Hospital, Banjarmasin, have varying levels of knowledge; namely, there is good knowledge, some are sufficient, and some are still lacking in understanding VAP prevention strategies.
