Abstract

This study aims to analyze child data protection policies on social media in Indonesia and to examine their implementation as well as the challenges encountered in practice. The object of this research is child data protection regulations and their implementation in children’s use of social media in Indonesia. The study adopts a qualitative approach with a normative legal method based on literature review, through the analysis of laws and regulations, academic journals, and policy documents related to the protection of children’s digital data. The findings show that Indonesia has established several regulations, such as the Child Protection Law, the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law), the Personal Data Protection Law, and PP TUNAS 2025, which serve as the legal foundation for protecting children’s data in digital spaces. However, the implementation of these regulations still faces various obstacles, including regulatory fragmentation, weak oversight of digital platforms, low public digital literacy, and suboptimal age verification systems and child data protection mechanisms on social media. In conclusion, the protection of children’s data on social media requires a multidimensional approach through strengthened regulations, improved oversight of digital platforms, and enhanced digital literacy among children, parents, and schools. This study recommends the need for regulatory harmonization and collaboration among stakeholders to create a safe digital environment for children.

Abstract

The transformation of learning paradigms in the digital era requires teachers to possess pedagogical competencies that support student-centered, contextual, and twenty-first-century learning. However, the needs assessment conducted in Cisaat Village, Ciater District, Subang Regency indicated that teachers still required greater understanding of the implementation of the Deep Learning approach through the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This community service program aimed to strengthen teachers' understanding of the concepts and implementation of Deep Learning through Project-Based Learning to support the improvement of instructional quality. The program was conducted through a participatory workshop involving 12 teachers from four educational institutions in Cisaat Village. Learning activities consisted of interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Program evaluation was carried out using a participant feedback questionnaire, and the data were analyzed descriptively using percentage analysis. The evaluation results showed that all participants (100%) agreed that the workshop materials were aligned with the objectives of the program. Furthermore, 92.3% of participants rated the clarity of the presenters as excellent, while 84.6% considered the materials highly relevant to their professional needs and supported by adequate learning resources. Participants also provided positive evaluations regarding the effectiveness of the instructional media, the learning environment, and the overall contribution of the workshop in strengthening their understanding of Deep Learning through Project-Based Learning. The program contributed to strengthening teachers' pedagogical capacity while fostering sustainable collaboration among the university, local government, and educational institutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

Abstract

The development of social media has created an open digital communication space while simultaneously increasing the spread of hoaxes and disinformation that potentially threaten social integration, democratic stability, and the quality of citizens’ participation. This study aims to analyze the role of digital citizenship education in strengthening society’s resilience against false information (hoaxes) in the era of social media. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by analyzing various national and international journals, academic books, and relevant scientific documents. The findings indicate that digital citizenship education plays a strategic role in enhancing digital literacy, critical thinking skills, digital communication ethics, and citizens’ responsibility within the virtual public sphere. The study also reveals that the low culture of information verification and the high consumption of instant information are the main factors contributing to the increasing spread of disinformation on social media. The novelty of this research lies in the development of a conceptual model of digital citizenship education based on civic resilience, which integrates digital literacy, digital ethics, and digital citizen participation as preventive measures against hoaxes. In conclusion, digital citizenship education functions not only as an instrument of democratic education but also as a mechanism for strengthening the social resilience of digital society against disinformation
