Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the procedure for registering intellectual property rights and to provide information about legal protection for business actors. The method used in this research is normative juridical with a statute approach and a conceptual approach. The result of this research is that legal protection for business actors to protect their trademark rights can be obtained by following the trademark registration procedures according to the prevailing regulations. In the era of globalization and increasingly fierce business competition, trademarks have become an important asset for entrepreneurs to differentiate their products and services from others. The legal system in Indonesia has provided a comprehensive legal framework to protect the rights of entrepreneurs regarding trademarks. Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications provides a strong legal foundation for entrepreneurs to register, use, and maintain their trademark rights. Legal protection is fully obtained by business actors to avoid losses caused by trademark disputes. This legal protection for registered trademarks includes preventive and repressive measures that can be fully utilized by business actors.
