Abstract

Brand recognition and brand memory are two crucial elements in brand awareness. Shopee Indonesia is one of the e-commerce in Indonesia, which is quite active on Twitter social media. This study analyzes social networks about brand awareness on Twitter through the hashtag #ShopeeID. In addition, I also want to enrich research on social network analysis in e-commerce in Indonesia. This study uses the concept of brand awareness, social media Twitter, and Social Network Analysis (SNA). The SNA research method uses the Netlytic and Gephi applications. Data collection was taken from 23-30 May 2022 for later analysis. The results showed that using hashtags in status uploads on social media could build brand awareness. The hashtag #ShopeeID can create consumer awareness of a brand as one of the e-commerce companies in Indonesia. This awareness is formed through the frequent and repeated use of hashtags by both Shopee and consumers. Shopee, a key player in disseminating information, uses Twitter as a medium to provide information through promos and giveaways. This research has implications for how e-commerce companies use hashtags in social media to create brand awareness. Businesses should pay more attention to using specific hashtags that reflect the brand than the business. When consumers can recognize a brand, that's where brand awareness is achieved.

Abstract

Discussions about environmental issues, one that has become quite the topic of conversation this decade is related to global warming, for example related to waste. Garbage has a significant contribution to environmental damage. The issue of global warming is an emerging and growing issue. The purpose of the research is to understand the proprietary strategy of Griya Luhu's in delivering environmental campaign digital waste banks at Rural Area. Environmental communication is one of the advocacy efforts. Environmental campaign advocacy is the act of persuading or arguing in favor of a particular cause, policy, idea or set of values on an issue. Advocacy is a powerful medium for various social and environmental change organizations. Existing environmental campaign advocacy all this time only focuses on urban areas. Economic limitations and waste issues become the main reason why Griya Luhu, an NGO Bali-Indonesia based, wants to give environmental campaigns to rural communities on Bali island through their program called Digital Bank Sampah (Waste Digital Bank). This research is done with an in-depth interview with the Chairman dan members of Griya Luhu. The outcome of this research shows that Griya Luhu uses various strategies, including a communal approach, raising environmental issues, and empowering the community during the program Waste Digital Bank. Griya Luhu's primary strategy is empowering the community, especially in rural areas. The form of their empowerment is to push the people to be able to use digital technology and want to make waste bank work more transparent. Thus the community is more concerned with the environment, especially the problem of waste

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the pandemic on violence against journalists, starting from the proposition that the pandemic might have influenced the frequency or nature of attacks. While reports indicate a decline in the overall number of violent incidents against journalists over the years, the cases remain alarmingly high. The research aims to map the patterns of violence against journalists using two primary concepts: violence against journalists and press freedom. Employing qualitative content analysis, the study analyzed news articles from several leading outlets, classifying incidents based on perpetrators, types of violence, and their underlying motives. The findings reveal that during the pandemic and the transitional period in 2022, journalists continued to face various forms of violence, ranging from intimidation and suppression of their reporting to outright murder. Perpetrators included civilians, public security officers, military personnel, and government officials. The motives behind these acts primarily fall into two categories: preventing journalists from covering specific events or issues, and retaliating against negative coverage. The study highlights that press freedom should not only be understood as freedom from government intervention but also freedom from threats, intimidation, and all other forms of violence. Additionally, the research underscores the importance of implementing safety training programs to better equip journalists to navigate these challenges.
