Abstract

Backgrounds: Pregnancy is a normal physiological process experienced by women. During this COVID-19 pandemic, pregnant women have atypical experiences. The COVID-19 pandemic also instigates psychological problems in the form of anxiety and depression in pregnant women. Supports are exceedingly needed by pregnant women, especially during the current pandemic. They can take several measures during their pregnancy to reduce their level of anxiety.Objective of the study: To review evidence related to pregnant women’s experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.Review methods: This scoping review method begins with identifying scoping review questions using PEO framework; identifying relevant articles chosen based on inclusion and exclusion criteria; searching for articles using databases, namely EBSCO, PubMed, Science Direct, and Wiley Online Library; selecting articles of which search flow is described through PRISMA Flowchart; performing data charting and critical appraisal; and compiling and reporting results.Results: Based on 8 chosen articles, 7 articles are marked grade A in quantitative research design non-randomized (5), quantitative descriptive (1), qualitative (1), and 1 article is marked grade B in quantitative descriptive research design. Furthermore, there are 3 obtained themes, including psychological conditions, coping strategies and the pregnant women's needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic affects the pregnant women’s experiences due to the emergence of psychological responses in the form of anxiety, depression and fear. One of coping strategies carried out by pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic is by doing physical activities such as exercising, doing their hobbies, thinking positively and finding out information. Social supports and accurate information obtained help pregnant women to overcome their anxiety.

Abstract

Background: Nausea, and vomiting (emesis gravidarum) are symptoms that often occur in 60-80% primigravida and 40-60% multigravida. Nausea and vomiting are symptoms experienced by women during early pregnancy, where this condition usually begins 4-8 weeks of pregnancy and can be more severe by the 9th week. The condition of nausea and vomiting will improve at 14 weeks of gestation and above. The discovery of the effectiveness of ginger in reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnancy is a potential health technology assessment that can be recommended in midwifery practice. However, a comprehensive analysis is needed regarding the use of ginger in reducing complaints of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. Therefore, this analysis was conducted to determine how the effect and safetyness of ginger in reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.Method: The method used was a narrative review method. The articles were searched using 3 databases (PubMed, siencedirect, and Wiley online library). The inclusion criteria of the article were articles published in 2011-2021, in English and discussing the effect of ginger to reduce nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. The article search flow was described using PRISMA Flowchart. Meanwhile, article quality assessment was carried out using MMAT and CASP. Furthermore, data preparation and reporting of results were carried out.Result: Out of the 10 articles that had been extracted,9 article involved pregnant women as participants. while 1 article only discusses the effectiveness of ginger in reducing nausea vomiting,6 articles had been used using randomized controlled trials and 4 articles were systematic reviews. Based on the quality of the articles, 9 articles obtained grade A and 1 article obtained grade B. furthermore, three themes were obtained, namely effectiveness, safety, other therapies, and 5 related sub-themes of effective, ineffective, safety, pharmacological therapy, and non-pharmacological therapy.Conclusion: The findings of this narrative review found that ginger is effective and safe in reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.

Abstract

The safety aspect of health workers including midwives as the frontline in handling patients during the COVID-19 pandemic is at risk of being very vulnerable to being exposed to COVID-19 which threatens their lives and safety. Physical and mental fatigue in health workers during a pandemic increases the risk of burnout which can reduce the quality of service to patients. The purpose of this study was to review evidence related to the psychosocial experience of midwives in pregnancy and childbirth services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used was a scoping review beginning with the identification of scoping review questions using the PEO framework; identifying relevant articles to be determined based on inclusion and exclusion criteria; searching for articles using databases, namely Proquest, PubMed, Science Direct, and Wiley Online Library; selecting articles whose search flow is described through the PRISMA Flowchart; performing data charting and critical appraisal; compiling and reporting results. The results obtained based on 8 articles that had been critically appraised showed that 6 articles used qualitative studies, 1 article used mixed-method quantitative study, and 1 article used quantitative descriptive study. A total of 3 themes emerged, namely about the psychological impact, challenges and needs of midwives in pregnancy and childbirth services during the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the experience felt by midwives in pregnancy and childbirth services with psychological impacts such as fear and burnout. In addition, there were challenges faced by midwives and things that were needed by midwives in pregnancy and childbirth services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstrak: Aspek keselamatan tenaga kesehatan termasuk bidan sebagai garda terdepan dalam menangani pasien selama pandemic COVID-19 berisiko sangat rentan untuk terpapar COVID-19 yang mengancam jiwa dan keselamatannya. Kelelahan fisik dan mental pada tenaga kesehatan di masa pandemic meningkatkan resiko terjadinya burnout yang dapat mengurangi kualitas dalam pelayanan pada pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mereview evidence terkait dengan pengalaman psikososial bidan dalam pelayanan kehamilan dan persalinan di masa pandemic COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan ialah scoping review diawali dengan identifikasi pertanyaan scoping review menggunakan framework PEO; mengidentifikasi artikel yang relevan dengan ditentukan berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi; melakukan pencarian artikel menggunakan database yakni Proquest, PubMed, Science Direct, dan Wiley Online Library; melakukan seleksi artikel yang alur pencariannya digambarkan melalui PRISMA Flowchart; melakukan data charting dan critical appraisal; menyusun dan melaporkan hasil. Hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan 8 artikel yang telah dilakukan critical appraisal, sebanyak 6 artikel menggunakan studi kualitatif, 1 artikel menggunakan kuantitatif mixed-method, dan 1 artikel menggunakan studi deskriptif kuantitatif. Sebanyak 3 tema yang muncul yakni tentang dampak psikologis, tantangan dan kebutuhan bidan dalam pelayanan kehamilan dan persalinan dimasa pandemic COVID-19 yang mempengaruhi pengalaman yang dirasakan oleh bidan dalam pelayanan kehamilan dan persalinan dengan adanya dampak psikologis seperti ketakutan dan burnout. Selain itu terdapat tantangan yang dihadapi oleh bidan dan  hal-hal yang menjadi kebutuhan bidan dalam pelayanan kehamilan dan persalinan di masa pandemic COVID-19.

Abstract

Iron deficiency Anemia is a national health problem that is associated with nutritional problems. Knowledge of anemia in adolescents is very necessary as a way of habituation to the consumption of FE tablets with one's own awareness. Through attractive Health Promotion media will increase health awareness by adolescents. Researchers want to aim to determine the difference in the effectiveness of education through video and leaflet media on the level of knowledge of young women about the Prevention of anemia in the city of banjarmasin. This study uses the type of quantitative research with quasi experiment design with pretest posttest approach non-equivalent control group design with pretest and posttest. Sampling technique is done by total sampling. The instruments in this study used questionnaires and statistical analysis using paired t-test to determine the level of knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia and independent t-test to determine the difference in the effectiveness of education through video and leaflet media on adolescent girls ' knowledge about anemia. The provision of education with video and leaflet media on young women's knowledge about anemia Prevention showed no significant difference. The results of this study indicate that the provision of education through leaflet media is slightly more effective than the provision of education through video media

Abstract

Abstrak: Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang sedang berkembang dengan berbagai jenis masalah dan hambatan dalam pembangunan kesehatan masyarakat. Salah satu hambatan yang sering terjadi di masyarakat adalah adanya pantang makanan setelah melahirkan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memahami cara mengolah makanan sehat pelancar ASI pada Ibu Nifas dan Kader. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah dan tanya jawab serta praktik cara pembuatan makanan pelancar ASI yang bahannya ada disekitar kita.…Evaluasi yang dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest dengan indicator penilaian apabila terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan peserta lebih dari 80% maka kegiatan dianggap berhasil. Target dari penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini adalah terjadinya peningkatan pemahaman tentang manfaat ASI, Makanan pelancar ASI dan cara mengolah makanan sehat pelancar ASI bagi ibu nifas dan kader posyandu. Hasil penyuluhan dan pelatihan didapatkan dengan persentasi nilai berpengetahuan baik sebanyak 6 orang (30%) meningkat menjadi 14 orang (70%), sehingga adanya peningkatan persentase ibu yang berpengetahuan baik dan terjadi penurunan persentase ibu yang berpengetahuan kurang sehingga dapat disimpulkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan ibu Nifas dan Kader Posyandu setelah diberikan Penyuluhan dan Pelatihan tentang pembuatan makanan sehat pelancar ASI.Abstract: Indonesia is a developing country with various types of problems and obstacles in the development of public health. One of the obstacles that often occurs in society is abstinence from food after giving birth. This community service aims to understand how to prepare healthy foods that facilitate breastfeeding for postpartum mothers and cadres. The method used is lectures and questions and answers as well as practice on how to make breast milk-stimulating foods using ingredients that are all around us. The evaluation was conducted through pretest and posttest with an assessment indicator if there was an increase in participant knowledge of more than 80% then the activity was considered successful. The target of this counseling and training was an increase in understanding of the benefits of breast milk, breast milk-stimulating foods and how to process healthy breast milk-stimulating foods for postpartum mothers and posyandu cadres. The results of the counseling and training were obtained with a percentage of good knowledge of 6 people (30%) increasing to 14 people (70%), so that there was an increase in the percentage of mothers with good knowledge and a decrease in the percentage of mothers with less knowledge so that it can be concluded that there was an increase in the knowledge of postpartum mothers and Posyandu cadres after being given Counseling and Training on making healthy breast milk-stimulating foods.
