Abstract

This study aimed to determine the teacher's strategy in shaping the character of students, and inhibiting factors of the teacher's strategy in forming the character of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang. This study used a qualitative method. The subjects of this study were teachers and students. The technique of data collection was done by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research are the teacher's strategy in forming the character of students has been proven quite well; (a) understanding included the ability of teachers to design lessons, assess the process of learning outcomes and shape the character of students, (b) habituation included the habit of working on questions on time and teachers instil disciplined habits, (c) teachers set a good example, positive advice, and reprimand to form good character towards students. The inhibiting factors for the teacher's strategy in shaping the character of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang are internal factors in the form of talents, interests, and character, while external factors in the form of family and environmental factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Peran pandai besi dalam mendukung pendidikan anak ke tingkat perguruan tinggi (2) faktor-faktor yang menghambat peran pandai besi dalam mendukung pendidikan anak ke tingkat perguruan tinggi di Desa Mehona Kecamatan Sabu Liae Kabupaten Sabu Raijua. Jenis penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala desa, orang tua dan anak. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dan teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan beberapa temuan . Pertama Peran Pandai Besi Dalam menyekolahkan anaknya ke tingkat perguruan Tinggi Di Desa Mehona Kecamatan Sabu Liae Kabupaten Sabu Raijua adalah (1) Peran Orang Tua Sebagai Pendidik adalah orang tua mendidik anak dengan mengajak anak agar giat dalam belajar, selalu ingat berdoa (2) peran orang tua sebagai fasilitator adalah sebagai orang tua memeberikan fasilitas berupa uang SPB. ( 3) Peran orang tua sebagai pembimbing adalah membantu anak ketika mengalami kesulitan, dan mengajarkan anak untuk berperilaku yang baik. Kedua faktor- faktor yang menghambat peran orang tua dalam menyekolahkan anaknya ke tingkat keperguruan tinggi adalah (1) tingkat status sosial ekonomi orang tua menyebabkan anak-anak tidak melanjutkan pendidikan ke tingakat perguruan tinggi, (2) faktor lingkungan sosial (3) tidak adanya kemauan untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the teacher’s role in shaping student personality, and the constraints of the teacher’s role in shaping student personality at SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang. This type of research is qualitative methods. The subjects in this study were teachers and students. The techniques used in collecting data in this study are through observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the role of the teacher is as a teacher guide (finding, directing, motivating), as a role model for giving (attitude, speech, behaviour, mental, morals, good morals), the teacher has carried out its role but, in its implementation, it is less effective, so that the formation of the student’s behaviour has not been achieved. The obstacles teachers face in shaping student behaviour are the negative influence from various social media, lack of family attention, and bad friends associating with students, the teacher has tried but has not succeeded in implementing it.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of school culture in shaping students’ ethical behavior and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Kalabahi. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that a strong and positive school culture significantly contributes to shaping students’ ethical behavior. This is reflected in the implementation of school vision and mission, character-building programs, integration of ethical values into the curriculum, and teachers’ role as role models. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities also reinforce moral internalization among students. Supporting factors include clear school policies, collaboration with external stakeholders, and active participation of school members. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include external environmental influences, limited resources, and lack of parental involvement. This study highlights that school culture plays a strategic role in sustainably developing students’ ethical behavior.
