Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of perceptions about the teaching profession on interest in becoming a teacher in the students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan students. This research is quantitative descriptive. The population in this study was 31 students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan who had implemented PLK. Data were collected through a questionnaire/questionnaire and analyzed using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (IBM SPSS Statistic 22) program. The results showed that there was an influence of perceptions about the teaching profession on interest in becoming a teacher by students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan by 23.3% and 76.7% influenced by other variables outside this study.

Abstract

Numerical literacy is an ability that needs and is very important to improve. So it is necessary to do research to improve students' numeracy literacy skills with the PBL model. This research is a quantitative research. The research method is pretest-posttest design with purposive sampling technique. Samples were selected randomly from the population. The population of this study were high school students in the South coast district. The sample was selected from schools that have A accreditation because seen from the data obtained, there are more schools that are accredited B and others. The conclusion is obtained by looking at the results of the given numeracy literacy skills which have previously been validated by experts in their fields. The conclusion obtained is that the achievement of the control class using PBL can effectively improve students' numeracy literacy skills, while the control class has not provided an effective increase in students' numeracy literacy abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the experience of the Educational Field Practice (PLK) on the readiness to become a teacher in the students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan. This research is quantitative descriptive. The population in this study was 31 students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan who had implemented PLK. Data were collected through a questionnaire/questionnaire and analyzed using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (IBM SPSS Statistic 22) program. The results showed that there was an influence between the experience of Educational Field Practice (PLK) on readiness to become a teacher, with a positive direction for students of STKIP Pesisir Selatan by 42.7%. The results of this study are expected to be used as reference material in improving the quality of education.

Abstract

The reality that occurs shows that students' mathematics learning achievement has not been in line with expectations. Students' mathematics learning outcomes based on test scores, there are still many students whose scores are below the specified KKM, which is 77. If you pay attention when learning takes place, it seems that many students are less interested in learning mathematics. Especially if the math class is at the last hour. This is one of the obstacles students are not motivated to learn mathematics. In addition, learning activities have not optimized student-centered learning models, so that the learning process feels less interesting so that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of the TTW strategy in improving learning outcomes in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental). The population in this study were students of class XI SMAN 1 Painan, class XI IIS 4 as the experimental class and class XI IIS 1 as the control class. The instrument used is a concept understanding test. The results of the hypothesis in this study are that students' understanding of mathematical concepts who take part in learning using the TTW type cooperative learning model is higher than students who use conventional learning. This means that the TTW type cooperative learning model has a good effect on students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This research started from researcher’ observation on English students’ ability that still low at seventh grade SMP N 1 Ranah Pesisir, and students’ opinion of English is bored and difficult. Based on the problems, this research purpose was to analyze students’ difficulties in understanding English learning, especially Reading Comprehension and Structure. The research method was descriptive qualitative. The research sampling was seventh grade students at SMPN 1 RanahPesisir, in choosing the sample was used purposive sampling technique. It was done because its class had mean score which low than others. More than 50 % of students got score under Minimum Completeness criteria. To get the data, the researcher had done interview for the students and English teacher, then done observation and document that were gotten the score of reading and structure material. From the result research were gotten that reading and structure understanding at seventh grade students SMP N 1 Ranah Pesisir, low. 40% from 25 students were difficulties in understanding them. The students difficulties of reading and structure understanding was caused less students’ concentration in learning, students’ learning habit which mistake, and students’ bored in English learning, beside teacher rarely did correction on students’ task.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the characteristics of land for settlements and to evaluate the land suitability classes. This is a descriptive research. The samples take by land units with a sampling technique is stratified random rampling. The methode used in this research were survey, laboratorium test, scoring on each characteristics of land so as to obtain the level of suitability of land for settlements and overlay. The research result showed that in Kanagarian Painan there are three landforms, namely fluvialandform, volcanic landform and marine landform. Based on the result of the analysis of characteristis of the land suitability (drainage, permeability, slope, duration of inudation, soil teksture, distribution fo coarse material, host rock outcrop, depth expanse of rock, depth of groundwater) there are three classes of suitability land for settlements in Kanagarian Painan are land suitable for settlements (11 ha), enoughland suitable for settlement(349 ha) and land less suitable for settlement(8 ha).
