Abstract

Numerical literacy is an ability that needs and is very important to improve. So it is necessary to do research to improve students' numeracy literacy skills with the PBL model. This research is a quantitative research. The research method is pretest-posttest design with purposive sampling technique. Samples were selected randomly from the population. The population of this study were high school students in the South coast district. The sample was selected from schools that have A accreditation because seen from the data obtained, there are more schools that are accredited B and others. The conclusion is obtained by looking at the results of the given numeracy literacy skills which have previously been validated by experts in their fields. The conclusion obtained is that the achievement of the control class using PBL can effectively improve students' numeracy literacy skills, while the control class has not provided an effective increase in students' numeracy literacy abilities.

Abstract

The reality that occurs shows that students' mathematics learning achievement has not been in line with expectations. Students' mathematics learning outcomes based on test scores, there are still many students whose scores are below the specified KKM, which is 77. If you pay attention when learning takes place, it seems that many students are less interested in learning mathematics. Especially if the math class is at the last hour. This is one of the obstacles students are not motivated to learn mathematics. In addition, learning activities have not optimized student-centered learning models, so that the learning process feels less interesting so that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of the TTW strategy in improving learning outcomes in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental). The population in this study were students of class XI SMAN 1 Painan, class XI IIS 4 as the experimental class and class XI IIS 1 as the control class. The instrument used is a concept understanding test. The results of the hypothesis in this study are that students' understanding of mathematical concepts who take part in learning using the TTW type cooperative learning model is higher than students who use conventional learning. This means that the TTW type cooperative learning model has a good effect on students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

The observation results show that there is no teaching material in the form of modules used bymathematics teachers at SMAN 1 Painan. Based on the problems and research objectives, this type ofresearch is a quasi experiment. This research was conducted on two groups, namely the experimentalclass using guided inquiry-based modules and the control class using conventional learning. Thepopulation in this study were all students of class X MIA SMAN 1 Painan for the academic year2020/2021 which consisted of 5 classes. To get the sample class, namely the experimental and controlclasses, the random sampling technique was used. Class X.MIA 4 was chosen as the experimentalclass and class X.MIA 3 was chosen as the control class. The instrument used was a test consisting of5 questions on concept understanding tests. The data analysis used the t test because the data werenormally distributed and homogeneous. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, a significance levelof 0.0035 was obtained. It means that Ho is rejected, this means that the understanding of students'mathematical concepts taught by using guided inquiry-based modules is better than conventionallearning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students of class IX MTsN 8 Pesisir Selatan. This study aims to determine whether the learning outcomes of the problem solving abilities of class IX students of MTsN 8 Pesisir Selatan who apply the Problem Solving method are better than learning outcomes on the problem solving abilities of students who apply conventional learning. This type of research is experimental research, with a randomized study design on the subject. The population in this study were students of class IX MTsN 8 Pesisir Selatan which consisted of 3 classes. The sampling technique used was random, which was chosen as the sample class is IX.1 as the experimental class and IX.2 as the control class. The instrument used in this study was a test of problem solving ability. The form of the test used is the form of essays with the reliability of the test is r_11 = 0.88. The data analysis technique used is the one-party t test with the help of SPSS Software. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that both sample classes are normally distributed and homogeneous at the level of confidence α = 0.05 and the results of the hypothesis test obtained P-value equal to 0,000, which means less than α = 0.05, the hypothesis in this study was accepted. So it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students 'problem solving abilities by applying problem solving methods are better than students' problem solving abilities by applying conventional learning in class IX students of MTsN 8 South Coastal Academic Year 2018-2019 with a 95% confidence level.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the students’ mathematics communication ability in class VIII of MTsN Tarusan was still low. This problem could be seen from the result of observation done to the students and interview done to mathematics teachers in MTsN Tarusan. To overcome the problem, generative learning model was applied. The purpose of this research was to reveal the effect of using generative learning model on the students’ mathematics communication ability. This was a quasi experimental research. The data collected was analyzed by using t-test, t’ test and Mann Whitney U test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was figured outthat mathematics communication ability of the students taught by using generative learning model was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the students’ conceptual understanding in class VIII of MTsN in Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan was still low. This problem could be seen from the result of observation done to the students and interview done to mathematics teachers in MTsN in Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. To overcome the problem, generative learning model was applied. The purpose of this research was to reveal the effect of using generative learning model on the students’ conceptual understanding. This was a quasi experimental research. The data collected was analyzed by using t’ test and Mann Whitney U test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was figured out that conceptual understanding of the students taught by using generative learning model was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning.
