Abstract

This study aims to describe aspects of scientific literacy; 1) Science as the body of knowledge in the science textbooks of grade IV, V, and VI students; 2) Science as a way of investigating science textbooks for grade IV, V, and VI students; 3) Science as a way of thinking in science textbooks for grade IV, V, and VI students; 4) The interaction of science, technology, society, and the environment in the science textbooks of grade IV, V, and VI students. This type of research is descriptive research. The subjects in this study were high class students. The object of this research is the textbooks of grade IV, V, and VI elementary school. The research data was calculated the average value of each expert and then the percentage was calculated according to each aspect of scientific literacy analyzed. The results of the first study show that the indicator presents the concepts of the number of occurrences of 6 with a percentage of 100%. The second aspect shows the largest number of appearances compared to books of class IV and VI. The science aspect as a way of thinking shows the largest number of occurrences compared to books of grades V and VI. the third aspect is deductive and inductive reasoning, skepticism and criticism, and various ways of understanding the natural world. The last aspect shows the largest number of appearances compared to books of class IV and V. Indicators Describe the usefulness of science and technology for society.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research with a quasy experiment method. The research design was The Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The population in this study were fourth grade students at SD Negeri 02 Rejang Lebong and grade IV students at SD Negeri 10 Rejang Lebong. The samples of this research were 30 students of class IV A SDN 02 Rejang Lebong as the experimental class and 30 students of class IV A SDN 10 Rejang Lebong as the control class. The research instrument is a written test which includes tests of fluency, flexibility, original thinking skills, elaboration of thinking skills and evaluation thinking skills. Significance level of 0.05. Based on the results of the posttest hypothesis test for the experimental and control classes using the Mann-Whitney U test, it was found that there was a difference in the effect of using different learning models on the dimensions of creative thinking abilities. Statistically, N-Gain the average value of the dimensions of creative thinking skills using PBL is much higher than learning using conventional models. Hypothesis test pretest-posttest experimental class using Paired Samples Test all dimensions of creative thinking ability obtained value t-count < t-table. It is concluded that there is an effect of the application of the PBL model on the creative thinking ability of class IV in the material of energy and motion.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop learning materials for students' worksheets with a scientific approach to material force for fourth grade students. The research subjects were 22 students and one grade IV teacher at SDN 59 Bengkulu Tengah, while the research object was students' worksheets with a scientific approach. This study uses the ADDIE model development which is carried out to produce a learning product. These stages include analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, the development carried out is only up to the third stage (development). The instruments used were expert validation sheets, interview guides and practicality test questionnaires. The results showed that the learning materials for students' worksheets with the scientific approach developed were very feasible and practical to be used by fourth grade students and teachers in science learning, especially force material, muscle force sub material.

Abstract

This research aims to (a) create and develop contextually based animated video learning media for learning science on Gaya material. Learning media is created by combining text, images, animation, audio and video. (b) to measure the feasibility and practicality of contextual-based learning video media. at SDN 11 Central Bengkulu. This research is research and development using the Borg and Gall model. The research object is contextual-based learning video media. The research stage includes (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, (6) use trials, (7) product revision. The data collection technique used was a validation questionnaire from material experts, language experts and presentation experts which were analyzed quantitatively descriptively. The research subjects were 18 grade IV students at SDN Bengkulu Tengah. The results of this research are contextual-based learning video media in science learning style material with material aspect feasibility of 0.81 high validity with very feasible criteria, language aspect feasibility of 0.75 high validity with appropriate criteria, and presentation aspect 0.80 high validity with criteria worthy. Practicality with a score of 79.38 with a percentage of 79.38% meets the practicality criteria. So, contextual-based learning video media in learning science material in Gaya is feasible and practical to use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the process of creating an animated video and determine its feasibility based on the results of the validator's assessment and student responses using a scientific approach geared toward solving the problem of the Search, Solve, Create, Share model for class V students. Procedure research and development refers to the Borg and Gall development model, which has ten stages, but only seven are used by researchers, namely up to the use trial and then product revision if there are validator suggestions. The study's findings were based on the validator's assessment of the material aspect, which received an average score of 0.81, the language aspect, which received an average score of 0.83, and the media aspect, which received an average score of 0.80. The overall average of these three aspects yields a score of 0.81 in the very decent category, while the results of student responses yield an average score of 80.5 in the very good category. Based on the assessment results, it can be stated that the developed learning media in the form of animated videos is very feasible and suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of implementing the discovery learning model with realia media on learning motivation and mastery of factual and conceptual science knowledge in class IV students. This type of research is quantitative research. The research method used was a quasi experiment using the matched only pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were all fourth grade students at SDN 86 Bengkulu City. The sample in this study was 22 students from class IVA as the experimental class, and 22 students from class IVB as the control class. Sampling used total sampling technique. The instrument used is a multiple choice written test sheet consisting of factual and conceptual knowledge dimensions with a total of 20 questions and a learning motivation questionnaire sheet with a total of 20 statement items given in the pretest (before learning takes place) and posttest (after learning takes place). Research data was analyzed using inferential analysis, namely the t-test. Based on the research results, it shows that there is an influence of applying the discovery learning model with realia media on learning motivation and mastery of factual and conceptual science knowledge in class IV students.
