Abstract

This research examines the implementation of Sunday School education at the Pentecostal Church of Indonesia in Babelan, a rapidly developing district in Bekasi Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Babelan is a suburban area that reflects both urban growth and traditional community values, making it an essential context for studying the role of religious education in shaping children's spiritual development. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the aspects of goal setting, program planning, implementation, and evaluation of goal achievement in Sunday School education. A qualitative approach was employed, using observation, interviews, and document analysis for data collection. The findings reveal that the process of determining Sunday School goals lacks clarity, program planning does not sufficiently align with the developmental needs of children, and program implementation is influenced by the qualifications and commitment of the teachers. Furthermore, the evaluation of goal achievement is not optimally performed. The study concludes that improvements are needed in all areas of Sunday School education, particularly in setting clear objectives, aligning programs with children's needs, enhancing teaching quality, and implementing structured evaluations to improve the effectiveness of children's religious education in Babelan's dynamic community context.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the influence of Christian Religious Education (PAK), counseling, and pastoral ministry on the moral development of youth in the Indonesian Pentecostal Church Sector 7 Jakarta. The moral development of youth is a key aspect in the formation of Christian character and the future desires of the church, which are strongly influenced by structured educational and pastoral interventions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design, where data is collected through a questionnaire that is distributed to a sample of church youth representatives. The results of the study show that PAK, counseling, and pastoral services have a positive and significant influence on the moral development of youth, both individually and simultaneously. The contribution of PAK (X1), pastoral ministry (X2), and pastoral counseling (X3) to moral development (Y) in the Indonesian Pentecostal Church Sector 7 Jakarta is very high, with a determination coefficient value (R²) of 0.969 or 96.9%. This means that this third variable explains 96.9% of the variation in youth moral development, while the rest (3.1%) is influenced by other factors outside the research model. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of churches to continue to strengthen and integrate PAH programs, counseling, and pastoral ministry as the main strategies in fostering youth morality. Recommendations include improving the quality of relevant PAK curriculum, strengthening the capacity of counselors and pastoral pastors, and creating a church environment that supports the moral growth of youth holistically. This research is expected to make a significant contribution to practical theology, Christian education, and youth ministry strategies in the context of Pentecostal churches and other denominations.

Abstract

The Indonesian context illustrates real religious discrimination, for example the prohibition of worship that is contrary to the law on freedom of worship, so the analogy with the story of Daniel and his three companions is relevant. They choose to be witnesses to their beliefs. Their rejection of oppression has an impact on the wider community. This paper presents an exegesis of Daniel 1-6 in the framework of religious moderation, which aims to explore how its narratives can provide a theological framework for Christians facing discrimination in Indonesia. The findings of the study suggest that the testimony model does not have to be confrontational, but rather rooted in three main pillars: relational obedience founded on the correct knowledge of God, flawless moral integrity, and surrender manifested through diligent prayer. This article implies how faith communities in Indonesia can appear as minority witnesses but have a public impact.
