Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai hasil belajar siswa kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran problem solving. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024 dan melibatkan 31 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan tindakan kelas dengan model spiral yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Hasil data menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus 1, sebanyak 20 siswa (64,6%) memperoleh nilai di atas 75 sesuai dengan kriteria keberhasilan tindakan, sementara 11 siswa (35,4%) masih mendapat nilai di bawah 75. Pada siklus 2, jumlah siswa yang memperoleh nilai di atas 75 meningkat menjadi 27 orang (87,1%), sedangkan siswa yang memperoleh nilai di bawah 75 menurun menjadi 4 orang (12,9%). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran problem solving berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2.  The purpose of this study was to find out the learning outcomes of the cooling system of class XI students of Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra by applying problem solving learning strategies. The research takes place in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 school year. The research subjects were 31 students of class XI Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra. This research uses a type of classroom action research with a spiral model that uses 2 cycles. From the data that has been obtained that there is an increase in the number of students who score 75 and above (according to the success criteria of action) in learning in cycle 1 there are 20 people (64.6%) who score above 75 and 11 people (35.4 %) who still scored below 75. For cycle 2 the number of students who scored above 75 increased to 27 people (87.1%) and students who scored below 75 decreased to 4 people (12.9%). Based on this analysis, it can be seen that the application of problem solving learning strategies succeeded in increasing student learning outcomes from cycle 1 to cycle 2.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' ability to dismantle vehicle alarm systems through the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on Experiential Learning in Light Vehicle Engineering class XII. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 3 cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 30 students of class XII Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra. Data collection was carried out through observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed an increase in students' dismantling ability from cycle I (68.5%), cycle II (75.2%), to cycle III (83.7%). The PBL model based on Experiential Learning effectively improves students' practical skills through direct experience, reflection, conceptualization, and Active Experimentation. This research concludes that the PBL model based on Experiential Learning can be an effective alternative in learning vehicle alarm system dismantling.
