Abstract

The utilization of marginal sandy land for shallot (Allium cepa var. ascalonicum L.) cultivation has promising economic value and the potential to increase national food production. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of shallot farming on marginal sandy land at M-25 Agro, located in Sampangan Village, Banguntapan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Province, using the Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C Ratio) analysis approach to demonstrate that the business is viable and profitable. The results of the study show that the total cost incurred for shallot production on an area of 5000 m² at M-25 Agro reached IDR 16,658,333, while the total revenue generated amounted to IDR 100,000,000. With an R/C Ratio calculation of 6.00, this study concludes that the shallot farming business on the marginal sandy land is highly profitable and feasible to continue.

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) farming with a planting system using a transplanter machine in Pahesan Village, Godong District, Grobogan Regency, Central Java has been analyzed using the Revenue Cost Ratio approach which produces a value of 1.9. This value shows that the farming business is feasible and profitable. The overall results of this research indicate that rice cultivation using a transplanter system in Pahesan Village provides significant benefits, where the income obtained is much greater than the production costs incurred. Apart from that, the use of transplanters also contributes to labor efficiency and increases productivity, thereby supporting the sustainability of farming in the Pahesan Village area, Godong District, Grobogan Regency, Central Java, which is very profitable and has the potential to improve farmers' welfare through efficiency and increasing rice production yields.

Abstract

This study analyzes the farming system of stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) under a partnership scheme between the Subur Agung Sejahtera Farmers Group and PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk. The main problem addressed is the uncertainty of market access and production costs faced by farmers in cultivating stevia as an alternative sweetener crop. The objective is to assess the cost structure, income, and economic benefits of the partnership. A descriptive analysis method with a mixed qualitative and quantitative approach was employed. Data were collected through surveys, structured interviews, and documentation, involving 10 farmers as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. The findings show that the total production cost per planting season (six months) amounted to IDR 184,786,667, consisting of fixed costs of IDR 13,696,667 and variable costs of IDR 171,090,000. The farming activities generated total revenue of IDR 375,000,000, resulting in a net income of IDR 190,213,333. These results indicate that the contractual partnership provides farmers with stable benefits, especially through guaranteed markets and fair prices. Strengthening cooperation with the company and improving production quality are recommended strategies to further increase farmers’ income.
