Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Find out the level of self-compassion in students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sanata Dharma University who experience toxic relationships in dating. (2) Find out which items on the self-compassion scale are still less than optimal, which will later be used as a proposal for a guidance program. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The subjects in the research conducted were students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sanata Dharma University who experienced toxic dating relationships. Data collection used a self-compassion scale with 36 valid items with a Cronbach Alpha reliability index of 0.910. The scale is prepared based on 3 aspects, namely self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics, using the SPSS version 22 application. The majority of self-compassion results for Sanata Dharma University FKIP students who experienced toxic dating relationships were moderately dominant. The results of the research conducted showed that out of 31 students, as many as 6.5% of students who experienced a toxic relationship had a very high level of self-compassion, 16.1% of students who experienced a toxic relationship in a relationship had a high level of self-compassion, 38.7% of students those who experienced a toxic dating relationship had a moderate level of self-compassion, 35.5% of students who experienced a toxic dating relationship had a low level of self-compassion, and 3.2% of students who experienced a toxic dating relationship had a very low level of self-compassion. There are 16 items measuring self-compassion which were identified as having low scores and 3 items measuring self-compassion which were identified as having very low scores which were proposed as guidance topics.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difference in self-acceptance rates between students and 7th grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta during puberty. This study also aims to find out the level of self-acceptance in students and students separately. This study uses a comparative quantitative method with 60 students out of a total of 192 students. Data was collected through a Google Form questionnaire containing 47 items based on aspects of self-acceptance according to Hurlock (2004). The reliability of the instrument was tested using Alpha Cronbach with a coefficient of 0.917. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the level of self-acceptance between students and students. Based on data analysis, 20.7% of students are in the medium category, 65.5% in the low category, and 13.8% in the very low category. For female students, 6.5% were in the very high category, 3.2% in the high category, 61.3% in the medium category, 22.6% in the low category, and 6.5% in the very low category. These results are used as the basis for the preparation of social personal guidance topics in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Research objectives: 1) to determine whether there is a difference in self-resilience levels among Batak students based on gender, 2) to identify factors influencing the resilience of transient students, 3) to assess the level of self-resilience between male and female students, 4) to identify low-scoring resilience scale items that can be proposed as counseling topics. This study employed a quantitative approach with a comparative research design. Data collection utilized a survey method involving 60 respondents, comprising 30 male and 30 female Batak students at Sanata Dharma University. The validity test confirmed 60 valid items out of 72, and reliability was established with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.756. Data analysis included an Independent Sample T-test to examine differences. The findings revealed: 1) no significant difference in resilience levels between male and female students 2) the resilience levels among male students were categorized as very high (17%), high (73%), and moderate (10%), 3) while female students were categorized as very high (17%) and high (83%), 4) several resilience scale items were identified as scoring low, suggesting areas that could benefit from counseling interventions.

Abstract

This research is quantitative correlational research. The research aims to determine the relationship between conformity in the social environment and the hedonistic lifestyle of high school students and to find out how high the level of conformity and hedonism is. Subjects numbered 70 students. Data collection used a conformity scale with 22 valid items with a reliability test value of 0.877 and a hedonism scale with 26 valid items with a reliability test value of 0.871. The research results show that there is a negative relationship between conformity and hedonism with a high level of significance with an r value of = 0.163 and p=0.177. The level of conformity is classified in the very high category with a percentage of 87%. The level of hedonism is classified as low with a percentage of 57%. Based on these results, it can be seen that the higher the level of conformity, the level of hedonism tends to decrease, and vice versa.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) determine the level of stress coping in final year male students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta. (2) Knowing the level of stress coping in final year female students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta. (3) Knowing the differences in levels of coping with academic stress between male and female students in the final year of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta. This type of research is comparative quantitative. The subjects in this research were final year students of the Guidance and Counseling study program at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta, totaling 60 students from a total population of 77 students. The questionnaire was prepared based on aspects of coping stress according to Lazarus and Folkman (1984). The instrument's Alpha Chronbach reliability coefficient value is 0.947 with 51 valid items. The results of this study show that there is no difference in the level of academic stress coping in final year students of the Guidance and Counseling study program at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta, seen from the significance value of 0.058 > α = 0.05. Students and female students have a high level of academic stress coping. The frequency of students' academic stress coping level was 23 (76.7%), while female students were 17 (56.7%).

Abstract

This research aims to (1) Knowing the differences in self-control among guidance and counseling students at Sanata Dharma University who use social media X (Twitter) based on gender. (2) Determine the level of self-control among guidance and counseling students at Sanata Dharma University who use social media X (Twitter). (3) Knowing the level of self-control among guidance and counseling students at Sanata Dharma University who use social media X (Twitter). Type of quantitative research with a comparative approach. The subjects in this research were BK USD students who used Twitter, totaling 30 male and 30 female students. The questionnaire is based on Averill's self-control theory (in Ghufron and Risnawati, 2010) which has three aspects including: Behavioral control, cognitive control, and control in making decisions. The validity test results obtained a total of 39 valid items.The research results show differences in the level of self-control between guidance and counseling male students and female students who use social media based on the results of Mann Whitney, asymp. the significant value is 0.000 < 0.05, then the Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted and the Ho (null hypothesis) is rejected. Male students have lower self-control than female students. Male students tend to have a moderate level of self-control around 21 (70%) and female students tend to have a high level of self-control around 21 (70%).
