Abstract

The aimed of this study was to ascertain how female uniformed Philippine National Police members manage their careers and how satisfied they are with their jobs. This study used survey methods in conjunction with descriptive correlation analysis. The San Juan City Police Station was the only location used for research with twenty-five (25) female uniformed personnel in the research area served as the respondents. Martinez (2019) provided a survey questionnaire that was used as the research instrument in this study. They used the mean and Pearson-r Correlation to examine the data. According to the survey, female officers support the program's implementation and are usually satisfied with its goals. Although they are contented with their compensation and benefits, they nevertheless require additional fundings in order to carry out their duties as professionals. Work satisfaction among female officers is effectively increased by the career management and development program, as evidenced by promoting gender equality and creating inclusive work environment. Investing in professional development boosts female officers' morale, motivation, and commitment to their jobs. Higher retention rates follow from this, particularly for law enforcement agencies. Additionally, the program improves performance and productivity, which helps the Philippine National Police succeed overall.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic created not only threats to public health but also brought new and extraordinary challenges in the lives of law enforcement agencies worldwide. This study assessed the job performance of the Philippine National Police (PNP) frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic in the three cities of the province of Cavite, Philippines. The self-made survey questionnaire was distributed conveniently to 384 residents per city. The study revealed that police assistance gained a very effective rating, however, the enforcement of Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) health protocols was rated only effective, and the PNP reliability during the pandemic was rated very effective. The implication of this study is that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the residents of the said cities still trusted the PNP frontliners even though they rated only effective in the enforcement of IATF health protocols.

Abstract

This study examined the contribution of the Provincial Forensic Team (PFT) to the effectiveness and efficiency of investigative operations in local police stations in Cavite. The research aimed to evaluate how forensic support enhances criminal investigation processes and to identify areas for improvement that may strengthen forensic services and inter-agency collaboration. Specifically, the study assessed the impact of PFT assistance in crime scene investigation, forensic analysis, training and capacity building, research and development, and coordination with other law enforcement agencies. The study employed a descriptive research design using simple random sampling. Respondents consisted of police officers assigned to the Tagaytay Component City Police Station (CCPS) and personnel from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) unit located in Barangay Mendez Crossing East, Tagaytay City. Data were collected using a structured survey questionnaire and analyzed through statistical tools such as frequency distribution and weighted mean. Findings revealed that respondents generally rated the Provincial Forensic Team’s contribution as highly positive, particularly in improving crime scene investigation procedures, strengthening forensic analysis, supporting training initiatives, and enhancing collaboration among investigative agencies. However, several operational challenges were identified, including insufficient financial resources, outdated forensic equipment, heavy case workloads, and coordination inefficiencies, which may limit the effectiveness of forensic services. Based on these findings, the study recommends increased funding for forensic operations, modernization of forensic equipment and technology, continuous professional training for forensic personnel, and stronger collaboration among law enforcement and judicial agencies.

Abstract

This study explores the challenges faced by investigators in Tagaytay City, Cavite, in maintaining evidence integrity through the chain of custody. Conducted in 2025, it employed a qualitative descriptive design using structured interviews with purposively selected investigators at the Tagaytay City Satellite PNP SOCO Forensic Office. Data were analyzed through thematic analysis to uncover recurring issues in evidence handling. Findings revealed multiple challenges, including inconsistencies in investigator training, inadequate resources, and deficiencies in documentation practices. Many investigators demonstrated limited understanding of chain of custody protocols, resulting in procedural errors that compromise evidence reliability in court. Environmental factors such as extreme weather conditions and insufficient storage facilities further complicated the preservation of sensitive materials. Weak inter-agency collaboration, stemming from unclear communication and undefined roles, also hindered effective joint investigations. The study recommends tailored training programs on digital evidence handling and environmental preservation techniques to strengthen investigator competency, adoption of digital documentation systems to minimize human error, and establishment of clear inter-agency protocols. Upgrading evidence storage facilities and securing supplemental funding through public–private partnerships are also proposed to resolve resource constraints. It underscores the need for systematic improvements in evidence handling practices to safeguard justice. By addressing identified challenges and adopting the recommended strategies, law enforcement agencies in Tagaytay City can enhance operational efficiency and ensure that evidence is preserved and presented with the highest integrity. The study contributes valuable insights into the critical role of effective chain of custody management within the Philippine criminal justice system.

Abstract

The study findings indicate that while information campaigns are active, physical enforcement is hindered by logistical gaps and inconsistent community reporting. Possession of illegal firearm and trafficking persist despite RA10591 regulations, causing increased gun-related crimes and fatalities, with 7,702 deaths in the Philippines in 2014. Inadequate monitoring and enforcement of RA10591's provisions create loopholes that allow individuals to circumvent the law, posing a threat to public safety. The study was performed out at Cavite's Amadeo. The Amadeo Police Station's officers were the responders. Purposive sampling was used in their selection. It used qualitative research, and interviews were used to get relevant data. The findings revealed that majority of the survey participants were police officers with the rank of Police Master Sergeant though other ranks were represented. Majority were college graduates who served for many years reflecting expertise and dedication maintaining weapon safety and control. The PNP takes initiatives increasing public understanding of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition control Act. However, face a number of difficulties, such as a lack of funding and public opposition to some programs.
