Abstract

This study assessed the level of awareness of livelihood and entrepreneurship opportunities among grade 10 junior high school students of Bulacan Province, with a view to knowing the possible entry points for educational interventions. The objectives of the research are: to find the extent to which students know available entrepreneurship opportunities and perceive the extent of entrepreneurship education in schools and the role that entrepreneurship plays in the economy. This will be a mixed-method study using both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. It shall be participated by the Grade 10 students of two public secondary schools in Malolos, Bulacan, for the 2021-2022 academic year. Data were gathered through questionnaires adapted from the various measures, as shall be specified. The results of the study showed that the student-respondents manifested a moderate level of awareness insofar as entrepreneurship is concerned. However, some industries seemed underrepresented in the awareness that the students have about entrepreneurship. Based on the findings, promotional strategies in the form of informative posters and videos were formulated and evaluated by experts. An action plan was suggested to increase livelihood and entrepreneurship awareness, recommending activities for provoking the students' interest.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of ChatGPT in pre-service teacher education in the Philippines, focusing on its benefits, challenges, and potential impact on teaching practices. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected from 45 pre-service educators at Bulacan State University through an open-ended online survey. Thematic analysis revealed key challenges, including unfamiliarity with AI, concerns about accuracy and credibility, and risks of over-reliance on AI-generated content. Despite these concerns, participants recognized ChatGPT’s ability to enhance lesson planning, foster creativity, and support differentiated instruction. The findings highlight the need for structured AI training in teacher education programs, ethical guidelines for responsible AI use, and institutional support for effective AI integration. The study concludes that ChatGPT can serve as a valuable supplementary tool in teacher preparation, provided that educators receive adequate training and institutional backing. Future research should explore interactive methodologies, such as focus groups or classroom-based AI interventions, to gain deeper insights into its pedagogical applications.

Abstract

This study explores the futures of Philippine higher education toward 2050. Using a qualitative–exploratory foresight approach, it employed STEEP analysis and Causal Layered Analysis (CLA) with data drawn from secondary sources such as policy papers, international reports, and scholarly works. The findings highlight artificial intelligence (AI) and modular learning as key opportunities for personalized and inclusive education. However, challenges persist in digital inequality, inadequate infrastructure, and limited faculty readiness. Sustainability integration is emerging but remains underdeveloped. The study recommends strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing faculty capacity, adopting inclusive AI tools, and embedding sustainability in curricula. Public–private partnerships and anticipatory policies are essential to ensure a future-ready higher education system that equips Filipino learners for evolving societal and labor-market demands.

Abstract

This study performs a detailed bibliometric analysis to trace the evolution of sustainability and livelihood research, mapping key ideas, interdisciplinary connections, and the thematic shift from purely economic models to integrated frameworks encompassing social and ecological resilience, adaptive governance, and institutional dynamics. Using a structured approach with Scopus data, co-citation and co-word analyses were performed via VOSviewer and Bibliometrix. This process, guided by strict criteria, generated citation networks and keyword co occurrence visualizations to map the field's intellectual and thematic structure. Findings confirm the enduring influence of foundational frameworks, notably the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework (SLF) and Ostrom's Institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) framework. Results indicate an accelerating trend toward interdisciplinary teamwork, sustainability education, entrepreneurship, and the role of digital technologies in enhancing livelihood resilience.These findings offer useful insights for policymakers, educators, and industry players. They highlight the need for adaptive governance, technological innovation, and community-led sustainability projects. Additionally, the study points out important research areas, including climate adaptation strategies, gender-inclusive sustainability policies, and digital changes in livelihood systems. By connecting theoretical and practical views, this study helps deepen our understanding of the changing landscape of sustainability and resource management. It suggests strategic directions for promoting global sustainable development.
