Abstract

Mangrove memiliki peranan sentral sebagai habitat yang ideal bagi berbagai macam spesies hewan meliputi reptilia, aves, pisces, bivalvia dan gastropoda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi spesies gastropoda dan karakteristik habitat pada kawasan pesisir Aceh Timur, Provinsi Aceh. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Februari 2023 dikawasan pesisir Aceh Timur dengan rona lingkungan yang bervariasi. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei langsung pada habitat gastropoda. Sampel diambil secara non destruktif pada dua lokasi yang memiliki rona lingkungan berbeda. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mendapatkan informasi spesies dan karakteristik habitat yang ideal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rona lingkungan yang bervariasi berbanding lurus terhadap jumlah spesies dan individu gastropoda pada kawasan pesisir. Ditemukan 7 famili gastropoda dari 15 spesies, dimana gastropoda ditemukan lebih dominan pada lokasi yang jauh dari pemukiman dan aktifitas masyrakat. Karakteristik habitat biota perairan ini baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung hidup berasosiasi dengan mangrove, dengan kondisi substrat berpasir, berlumpur dan liat. Kondisi salinitas air sangat besar pengaruhnya terhadap keberlangsungan hidup hewan ini, dengan salinitas berkisar antara 22-32‰.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the diversity, economic value, and conservation status of macroinvertebrates in the coastal areas of the east coast of Aceh Province. The research method involves surveying the coastal regions of the east coast of Aceh Province, with macroinvertebrate sampling conducted through purposive sampling based on varying environmental characteristics. A total of 6.056 macroinvertebrate individuals from 55 species belonging to three classes, namely Gastropoda, Bivalvia, and Crustacea, were collected from the coastal areas of Aceh. Gastropods dominated the sample, while crustaceans were the least represented. The highest utilization of macroinvertebrates comes from the Bivalvia class, reaching 100%, while the lowest comes from the Gastropoda class at only 34.62%. Overall, no macroinvertebrates living in the coastal areas of Aceh were found to be threatened with extinction, with only 10.91% having a status of least concern. In contrast, the rest have yet to be evaluated.
