Abstract

Collaborative Learning Training of Jumping Task Technique Based on Tapsel Mathematical Language to Improve 21st Century 6C Competencies of Elementary School Students 100601 Pintu Padang. The partners of this community service activity are 22 students of grade V of SD Negeri 100601 Pintu Padang. The partner's problems are as follows: 1) minimal school facilities, 2) students' difficulties in understanding mathematics, 3) low interest in learning mathematics, 4) students' perspectives that consider mathematics as a difficult and boring lesson, 5) low ability and skills of some teachers in presenting teaching materials as interestingly as possible, and 6) limited economic conditions for students to participate in tutoring, 7) Low Competence 6 C, 8) the need to use student language that is based on the experience of the Batak language of Tapsel. To address these issues, we are interested in holding community service activities (PKM) in the field of educational services, namely the Tapsel Mathematical Language-Based Jumping Task Technique Collaborative Learning Training which is considered appropriate for 21st century thinking and is oriented towards students helping students face and solve difficulties in 6C competency questions, namely as facilitators, motivators, innovators, evaluators, as well as educators and mentors in learning simulations discussing 6C competency questions. The method offered to improve 21st century 6C competencies to support the realization of PKM that will be implemented on students is the Tapsel Mathematical Language-Based Jumping Task Technique Collaborative Learning training. Jumping Task is a high-level question or assignment presented using Tapsel mathematical language to develop high-level thinking skills. Meanwhile, the approach used during the implementation of this PKM activity uses a service learning approach aimed at overcoming problems faced by partners and fulfilling practical needs required by students.

Abstract

Geometry learning can train students in analyzing the characteristics of geometric shapes and making mathematical arguments regarding visualization, spatial reasoning and geometric modeling in problem solving. Several studies show that students experience difficulties and make mistakes in solving geometry problems. The errors and difficulties experienced by students indicate the occurrence of epistemological learning barriers. This research aims to analyze the epistemological type of learning obstacle in learning angles in basic geometry material in junior high school. This research method is a qualitative type with a Didactical Design Research model approach through retrospective analysis. This research states that students experience epistemological learning obstacles in the three types of epistemological concept, epistemological procedure and epistemological operational technique.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical computational thinking abilities of students in understanding exponential material in the Basic Mathematics course. The research was conducted on first-semester students of the Vocational Education and Informatics Program at the Tapanuli Selatan Institute of Education, with a sample size of 40 students. The method used was descriptive research with a qualitative data analysis technique based on the model of Miles and Huberman (2003), through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Students' mathematical computational thinking abilities were analyzed based on the indicators of problem decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. The results showed that the students' mathematical computational thinking abilities in solving exponential problems were mostly in the moderate category (50%), with 22.5% of students having high or very high abilities. However, 22.5% of students still showed low to very low abilities in solving problems. This study concludes that although most students are able to identify and solve mathematical problems computationally, there is still a need for improvement in computational thinking abilities, especially in pattern recognition and abstraction. This study contributes to the development of mathematics education, particularly in preparing students to face the challenges of the digital era, which demands computational thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstract Mathematics consists of several sections of science concentration, one of which is geometry. Lines and angles are the most basic geometric material studied by students at the Junior High School (SMP) level in class VII. Lines and angles are basic material that is very important for students to understand as a basis for understanding subsequent geometry material. Ontogenic obstacles (ontegic obstacles) are one of the obstacles related to students' mental readiness in terms of the limited knowledge possessed by students, both in terms of application context and in terms of cognitive maturity in accepting new knowledge. The aim of the research is to analyze the types of ontogenic obstacles identified by students in learning the material about lines and angles in the sub-discussion of angles. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a Didactical Design  Research model approach through retrospective analysis. Data collection in research applies triangulation techniques, namely through observation, documentation and interviews. The results of this research indicate that students experience learning obstacles of the ontogenic type in learning the relationship between angles at angles school in line and angle material class VII SMP.
