Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical computational thinking abilities of students in understanding exponential material in the Basic Mathematics course. The research was conducted on first-semester students of the Vocational Education and Informatics Program at the Tapanuli Selatan Institute of Education, with a sample size of 40 students. The method used was descriptive research with a qualitative data analysis technique based on the model of Miles and Huberman (2003), through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Students' mathematical computational thinking abilities were analyzed based on the indicators of problem decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. The results showed that the students' mathematical computational thinking abilities in solving exponential problems were mostly in the moderate category (50%), with 22.5% of students having high or very high abilities. However, 22.5% of students still showed low to very low abilities in solving problems. This study concludes that although most students are able to identify and solve mathematical problems computationally, there is still a need for improvement in computational thinking abilities, especially in pattern recognition and abstraction. This study contributes to the development of mathematics education, particularly in preparing students to face the challenges of the digital era, which demands computational thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk menawarkan Model Inquiry Learning sebagai solusi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Latar belakang studi ini adalah rendahnya partisipasi belajar dan kesulitan signifikan yang dialami siswa kelas X-2 SMA Negeri 1 Ulu Barumun saat memahami konsep serta menyelesaikan soal matematika kompleks, khususnya soal cerita. Pendekatan yang diterapkan dalam riset ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dua siklus, yang setiap siklusnya mencakup tahap perencanaan, implementasi, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasilnya sangat mendukung, menunjukkan peningkatan berarti pada keterampilan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa: tingkat ketuntasan klasikal melonjak dari 71.4 % pada Siklus I menjadi 89.3% pada Siklus II. Tak hanya itu, aktivitas belajar siswa juga memperlihatkan kenaikan yang substansial, dari 73.55% menjadi 85.75%, dan kemampuan guru dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran turut menguat, mencapai 92.5% dari 84.38% sebelumnya. Model Inquiry Learning telah terbukti efektif dalam membentuk pembelajaran yang interaktif, meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, dan memperkuat keterampilan berpikir kritis mereka. Temuan ini memberikan prospek yang sangat baik untuk implementasi model ini di berbagai konteks pendidikan dan materi pelajaran lainnya di masa depan.

Abstract

SMP as the subject of this research is based on the consideration that the cognitive level is still in the transitional stage from concrete to formal operations so that it is suitable for the implementation of PMR. This study aims to 1) determine the effect of implementing PMR learning on improving students' mathematical communication skills, and 2) knowing student responses during the process of implementing PMR learning. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The design used in this study was a pretest posttest control group design. In this design, there are two groups selected randomly, then given a pretest to determine the extent to which students are ready to receive learning, while the posttest is used to measure students' mathematical communication skills after being given treatment. The research instrument used tests and non-tests. The test used is a test of students' mathematical communication skills in the form of description questions, while the non-test used is a student response questionnaire. Before the test was used, the Expert test and Instrument Trial were conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. The results showed that there was an effect of the application of PMR on the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills. The increase in the mathematical communication ability of the experimental class was 0.63 in the medium category and the control class was 0.24 in the low category. The results of the calculation of student responses to PMR components and activities are 95.55%, this shows a positive student response because the average percentage is > 80%. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that the application of PMR can be used as an alternative for mathematics teachers to be developed as an effective learning strategy so that mathematics communication skills and student responses are better.

Abstract

Basically, the use of E-learning in mathematics education is broad, both as a medium of learning in the classroom and as a medium for independent learning. Utilization of E-Learning will improve learning outcomes indirectly. Thus, it is hoped that the internet speed available on the campus, especially the Graha Nusantara University (UGN) Padangsidimpuan, is very good so that the implementation of self-learning based on E-Learning can run smoothly. In addition, all training is needed in the context of socializing the development of E-Learning learning methods so that students have effective thinking patterns and accept E-Learning as an alternative learning and evaluation in teaching and learning.

Abstract

This study aims to: first, to find out whether the implementation of Problem Based Learning assisted by YouTube can improve students' creativity in class VII 7 SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. Second, to find out the increase in student activity towards mathematics learning through the Implementation of Problem Based Learning Assisted by YouTube in class VII - 7 SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. Third, to find out the increase in teachers' ability in managing learning through the Implementation of Problem Based Learning Assisted by YouTube in class VII-7 SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Which consists of 2 cycles. The subjects of this study were class VII-7 consisting of 30 students. The results of the study showed that students' creativity abilities by implementing Problem Based Learning Assisted by YouTube in cycle 1 obtained with a minimum category of “Very poor”, which was 46.67% and in cycle II increased to 93.33% with a “Very Good” category. The increase from cycle 1 to cycle II was 46.66%. With the achievement indicator already achieved ? 80% Then for the results of observations of student activities in cycle 1 obtained 65.63% in the category "Less”, while in cycle II obtained 89.06% in the category "Good” The increase that occurred and cycle 1 to cycle II was 23.43% The achievement indicator has been achieved ? 80%. While for the results of observations of teacher's abilities in cycle 1 with the category "Enough" of 73.96% and cycle II obtained with the category "Good" of 87.50%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan minat belajar matematika peserta didik kelas IV SDN 101309 Batu Godang II Kecamatan Angkola Sangkunur melalui penggunaan media Pop Up Book pada materi Bangun Datar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes pemahaman, lembar observasi, dan angket minat belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pemahaman dan minat belajar. Rata-rata nilai pemahaman meningkat dari 58,40 pada pra-siklus menjadi 72,10 pada siklus I, dan mencapai 85,75 pada siklus II, dengan ketuntasan klasikal naik dari 35% menjadi 90%. Rata-rata skor minat belajar meningkat dari 72,25% pada siklus I menjadi 90% pada siklus II, termasuk kategori “Sangat Baik”. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media Pop Up Book efektif sebagai alat bantu visual-interaktif yang mampu menjembatani konsep abstrak menjadi konkret, serta meningkatkan partisipasi aktif dan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan strategi pembelajaran inovatif dalam pendidikan dasar, khususnya dalam pengajaran matematika yang kontekstual dan menyenangkan.
