Abstract

Abstract: The low academic performance of students in IPAS subjects serves as the background for this Classroom Action Research. The aim of the study is to enhance IPAS learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning model. The research method follows a cycle consisting of (1) planning, (2) action implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The subjects of this study are 12 students from Grade IV at SDN Sidorejo 02, Wungu District, Madiun Regency, focusing on IPAS lessons with the topic "Stories About My Region." Research instruments include teacher observation sheets, student observation sheets, and evaluation tests, utilized for data collection through testing, observation, and documentation. Data are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, with quantitative data analyzed using simple percentage calculations to depict result distributions. Qualitative data are analyzed through selection and grouping, followed by data description to identify themes or patterns, which are then used to draw conclusions. The findings indicate that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model significantly improves IPAS learning outcomes, as evidenced by the increase in learning achievement percentages from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, 8 students (61.53%) achieved mastery, whereas in Cycle II, 12 students (92.3%) reached mastery, with only 1 student (7.7%) not achieving it. This represents a 31% improvement from Cycle I to Cycle II. These results demonstrate that the implementation of the PBL model significantly enhances learning outcomes and can be more broadly applied to improve educational quality and integrated with digital technology to enrich student learning experiences.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to determine the improvement in science and science learning outcomes for grade IV elementary school students. by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by audio-visual media. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) with research subjects of 23 students. Data analysis was carried out descriptive quantitatively and using N-gain. The results of this research show that there has been an increase in science learning outcomes after using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by audio-visual media. In cycle 1, the N-Gain value of student learning outcomes was 0.6 in the medium category. In cycle 2 there was an increase in the N-Gain value of learning outcomes to 0.8 in the high category. The percentage of students' completeness at cycle 1 stage, namely 57%, increased to 96% in cycle 2, resulting in an increase in completeness of learning outcomes by 39%. From these findings, it can be concluded that using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model supported by audio visual media can improve the science and science learning outcomes of fourth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe learning activities and improve learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in class V students using an audiovisual-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The method used in this research is classroom action research (PTK) with research subjects of 26 students. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and tests, while data analysis is based on the results of the cycle during the learning process. The research results show that the use of an audiovisual-based PBL model significantly increases student learning activities. Student learning activities in cycle I had an average of 2.7 (fairly good category), and increased to 3.8 (good category) in cycle II. Teacher activity also showed an increase from an average of 2.5 (fair category) in cycle I to 3.7 (good category) in cycle II. Apart from that, students' science and science learning outcomes also experienced a significant increase. In pre-action, students' classical completeness only reached 51% with an average score of 66. In cycle I, classical completeness increased to 65% with an average score of 75, and in cycle II it reached 95% with an average score of 90. Research This concludes that the audiovisual-based PBL model is effective in improving learning activities and science learning outcomes in fifth grade students.
