Abstract

ABSTRACTABC Small and Medium Enterprises are woven bag craftsmen who function as shopping containers to go to the market or to supermarkets. The production of woven bags by UKM ABC can produce up to 80 products every day. Woven bags are made by cutting the raw material by streching, weaving, and also installing bag handles. The process of cutting raw materials at first used a simple method by using nails driven into wood. Based on this process, a roll tool was designed to speed up the process of cutting raw materials. The roll stretching tool that is designed still has several problems so it needs to be repaired again to optimize the performance of the roll tool. The redesign of this roll tool focuses on the raw material bin, the shape of the raw material bin, and the stretch for the spinning bin. Based on these constraints, innovative tools and roll stretching tools were carried out by paying attention to the anthropometric aspects of the 12 workers in UKM ABC. The test results show that after the innovation is carried out, the roll stretching tool is able to speed up the process of cutting raw materials by a difference of 3690 seconds and reduce the number of defects. Keywords: roll stretching tool, spinning process, woven bag ABSTRAK Usaha Kecil Menengah ABC merupakan pengrajin tas anyaman yang berfungsi sebagai wadah belanja ke pasar atau ke swalayan. Produksi tas anyaman oleh UKM ABC setiap hari mampu hingga 80 produk. Tas anyaman dibuat dengan cara melakukan pemotongan bahan baku bahan baku, melakukan penganyaman, dan juga pemasangan pegangan tas. Proses pemotongan bahan baku pada awalnya menggunakan cara sederhana dengan menggunakan paku yang ditancapkan ke kayu. Berdasarkan proses tersebut kemudian dirancang alat pemintal untuk mempercepat proses pemotongan bahan baku. Alat pemintal yang dirancang masih memiliki beberapa kendala sehingga pelu dilakukan perbaikan ulang untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja Alat pemintaltersebut. Perancangan ulang alat pemintal ini berfokus pada tempat bahan baku, bentuk tempat bahan baku, dan bentangan untuk tempat pemintalan. Berdasarkan kendala-kendala tersebut kemudian dilakukan perancangan ulang alat pemintal dengan memperhatikan aspek anthropometri 12 pekerja yang ada di UKM ABC. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa alat pemintal setelah dilakukan perancangan ulang mampu mempercepat proses pemotongan bahan baku dengan selisih 3690 detik dan mengurangi jumlah cacat. Kata kunci:  alat pemintal, proses pemintalan, tas anyaman

Abstract

Facility layout is an important thing that must be managed effectively and efficiently in order to produce optimal material handling costs. UD Karya Abadi is a manufacturing industry engaged in the manufacture of pans. The long-distance of materials movement is an obstacle during the production process. The distance of the material in carrying out the transfer will affect the total costs required in the production process. Facility layout design is carried out by paying attention to material handling distances and relationships between departments. The from to chart method is used to determine the smallest number of product moments that can be designed in an industrial layout. This research resulted in a decrease in product moment of 2840.181 from 4769.059 to 1928.878. The decrease in the product moment means that the material movement becomes smaller, so it can increase production capacity due to the smaller operator movements. This research resulted in a proposed layout for a new production facility and lowered material handling costs.Keywords: From to Chart, Layout, UD Karya Abadi
