Abstract

Abstract: Providing nutritious healthy food or snacks is an important support for the growth and development of preschool-age children. The environment around the school is a public place where children can buy snacks from food vendors. However, not all snacks can be categorized as healthy and safe for children. The way that can be done as prevention is by educating children about healthy and safe snacks to consume according to their age. The method chosen for educating preschool-age children is by using posters and conducting feedback and discussion. Children were given knowledge about healthy snacks using illustrated posters, debriefing was carried out by using an interactive song to make it easily remembered and understandable. The knowledge score was taken by using the question-and-answer method. The educational activities showed an increase in children's knowledge scores on healthy snacks compared to before they were given healthy snack education.

Abstract

Nursing competence is an important thing that must be achieved by nursing graduates, and it is essential to apply various learning methods. Purpose this study aims to review the effectiveness of Project-based Learning in improving academic competence in nursing students. Method the systematic review was applied in this study using PRISMA analysis. Result from the search stage according to the PRISMA method, there were 5 articles included in this study. The entire article shows positive results between the implementation of PjBL on the competence of nursing students. Of the 5 articles, 2 articles used a quasi-experimental research design with pre and post-tests, 2 articles with observational descriptions, and 1 article was qualitative article. Discussion PjBL can increase the competence of nursing students because it is constructive and involves students actively starting from planning, processing, preparing the final product, and reporting or presentation of results. With the complexity of the learning process, student competence becomes sharpened and increases. Conclusion the project-based learning model is effective in increasing the competence of nursing students.

Abstract

Background: Cognitive decline and physical deterioration are common issues among the elderly, significantly impacting their quality of life. The unanticipated cognitive impairments will result in dementia. Effective approaches to simultaneously improving both aspects remain to be further developed and evaluated. Exercise with a matching memory game overcomes the issues. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of an exergame, combining memory-stimulating games and physical exercise in improving cognitive function and physical fitness among the elderly. Methods: The study was a quick experiment with two groups in a pre-post test design. A number of 119 participants were recruited using purposive sampling and randomly divided into the experimental group (n=60) or the control group (n=59). Cognitive function was assessed using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), while physical fitness was measured with the 2-minute step test score. Results: The data was analyzed using a paired t-test, which revealed a significant improvement in MMSE and 2-minute scores in the experimental group before and after the intervention (p < 0.05). Additionally, the independent t-test analysis demonstrated a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in both cognitive and physical fitness measures after the intervention (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Implementing exercise has a significant positive influence on cognitive function and physical fitness among the elderly. Incorporating an exergame into community health programs for the elderly could provide substantial benefits to their overall well-being.
