Abstract

This article intends to show the effectiveness of the use of the NHT method on mathematics achievement in measuring material. The problem in this research is that the mathematics learning achievement of third grade students at Pekalongan Private Elementary School is still low, especially in measurement material, indicated by the average score of mathematics learning achievement of 71.38 (with KKM 75). The purpose of this study was to improve the mathematics learning achievement of class III students of Pekalongan Private Elementary Schools using the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning method. Through the NHT (Numbered Head Together) learning method, assignments are given to all students where students have been given different numbers in their groups but each group uses the same numbering. Calling student numbers randomly to report the results of group discussions encourages each student individually to take responsibility for their learning outcomes. This research is a class action research using a qualitative descriptive research method, with the type of field research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using Miles and Huberman. As a result, of the 12 students before receiving learning with the NHT (Numbered Head Together) method, it can be seen from the three indicators of achievement in learning mathematics (cognitive, affective, psychomotor) that did not show well. After students receive learning with the NHT (Numbered Head Together) method, three indicators (cognitive, affective, psychomotor) show an increase as evidenced by the achievement in learning mathematics, the better the measurement material.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of test equipment used in schools and the quality of the questions is unknown. Therefore, the assessment results may be false or not reflect the students’ true abilities. This research was conducted to analyze the questions used to measure the suitability of the questions and the level of difficulty of the questions for class V students in mathematics at Pekalongan Private Elementary Schools. The research method used is evaluation with a quantitative descriptive approach. The Rasch model is used to obtain fit test items. This analysis was carried out with the help of Winsteps software. From the output of the Winsteps program, the results obtained were 15 questions according to the Rasch model with an Outfit MNSQ value of 1.03. Meanwhile, the Outfit ZSTD value is 0.0. As well as the PT-measure Corr which has a positive value, there are 11 questions and 4 questions have a negative value. This means that there are 4 questions that do not fit the model. The results of the research show that the mathematics assessment questions can meet at least one of the three predetermined criteria and are in accordance with the fit characteristics. On the other hand, one question is considered easy based on the difficulty level of the question.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the items used to measure students' mathematical abilities in a private elementary school in Pekalongan. There were 22 fifth-grade students involved in the study. The test items consisted of 15 multiple-choice questions related to the topics of spatial calculations and data presentation. The Rasch model was used to determine the fitness of these test items. The analysis was carried out using the Winsteps software. Test items were considered fit for the model in the Winsteps program if the Outfit MNSQ value ranged from 0.5 to 1.5, the Outfit ZSTD value was between -2 and 2, and the Pt-measure Corr value was positive, indicating that the item was a good fit for the model (Sumintono & Widiharso, 2015:98). The Winsteps program's output revealed that 15 test items were in accordance with the Rasch model, with an Outfit MNSQ value of 1.03. The Outfit ZSTD value was 0.0. Additionally, 11 test items had a positive Pt-measure Corr, while 4 test items had a negative Pt-measure Corr, indicating that these 4 items did not fit the model.
