Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic situation has compelled society to practice physical distancing. One of the government's efforts is to encourage the use of the QRIS payment method to minimize direct physical contact during transactions. Objective: The purpose of this research is to analyze the primary driving factors in the adoption of QRIS technology. The research urgency is to determine the most contributing predictor from the variables within the UTAUT model among the people of Jabodetabek. Methods: This research used the quantitative method by conducting an online survey among 384 respondents distributed across the Jabodetabek region. The sampling technique utilized was non-purposive sampling with criteria including domicile, age, reasons, frequency, and experience of QRIS usage. Conclusion: The results of the factor analysis test indicate that the performance expectancy and effort expectancy variables are combined into one variable, while the social influence variable is divided into two independent variables. The research findings reveal that the perceived risk variable is the predictor with the most significant contribution in the context of the pandemic situation. Future researchers are expected to be able to develop the research model in other contexts with different goals.

Abstract

The research aims to examine the phenomenon of air pollution in Jabodetabek area using cultural theory in the context of crisis communication. Air pollution is an implication of climate change which is categorized as a wicked problem because it has a broad impact on various aspects of life. Research is important because there are several cultural groups in the Jabodetabek pollution phenomenon. These various cultural groups have different perspectives regarding the urgency of air pollution. Air pollution needs to be viewed as a problem involving cultural clashes in a human system. This makes it difficult to produce an effective solution. Solutions that focus on only one group will only produce documents without execution. Thus, the government as a policy maker needs to produce a clumsy solution that can embrace all cultural groups. The research strategy is a case study and the analysis method used is a literature review. Research data is secondary data in the form of news that can be accessed freely on digital pages. The findings prove that several government policy products show that collaboration between the government, business actors and community groups can produce effective and applicable solutions. Measurably, the air quality in the Jabodetabek area is gradually improving. This research can contribute as a practical guide for policy makers in dealing with various other wicked problems.

Abstract

The decision to be childfree is a decision that is still considered to be anti-mainstream, so they are vulnerable to cynicism and public rejection. Individuals with identities that differ from generally accepted norms usually use social media as a medium for self-actualization. This study adopts a constructivist research paradigm and employs a narrative methodology involving in-depth interviews with six childfree participants. Thematic analysis was applied to the collected data. The study reveals that participants from diverse backgrounds share a common perspective on what constitutes a meaningful life, which differs from the prevailing societal norms in Indonesia. It highlights the importance of a well-defined self-concept in achieving psychological fulfillment among childfree individuals. Interestingly, social media serves primarily as a tool for sharing, networking, and dispelling misconceptions about the childfree lifestyle. Rather than seeking self-validation or actively promoting their choice, childfree individuals view social media to communicate the outcomes of their interactions with society. This study highlights the lives of individuals who choose to be childfree when using social media without hiding their identity as an effort to build respectful social relationships. Thus, childfree individuals interpret Instagram as only a medium for conveying the results of the interaction process with the environment, instead of self-validation.Keywords: childfree; Instagram; self-actualization
