Abstract

This research aims to elucidate the effectiveness of Islamic religious education in Women's Penitentiary Institution III Mataram, including its planning, process, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in the rehabilitation of drug-related and other inmates. The study employs a quantitative approach involving in-depth interviews with inmates, participatory observation of program implementation, and analysis of relevant documents. Data analysis techniques encompass four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The application of behaviorist theory in Islamic religious education demonstrates positive outcomes at Women's Penitentiary Institution III Mataram. Inmates receive structured and continuous Islamic religious education. The learning process is supported by prison officers who play an active facilitator role in the learning process. The opportunity for inmates to fully engage in learning activities has successfully transformed their behavioral patterns. Inmates show improvement in their understanding and practice of religion, becoming more disciplined in performing religious rituals such as prayers, reading the Qur'an, and participating in other religious activities. Interviews with inmates also reveal that they feel the program helps them understand the mistakes they have made, and they are committed not to repeat them after their release from prison. Thus, the behaviorist approach in Islamic religious education at Women's Penitentiary Institution III Mataram significantly contributes to the rehabilitation process of drug-related inmates.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                            Penjara sering kali dipandang sebagai tempat yang membatasi kreativitas, pengetahuan, dan spiritualitas narapidana (WBP). Namun, di balik tembok penjara terdapat potensi besar yang dapat dikembangkan. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh narapidana adalah keterbatasan akses terhadap kegiatan yang dapat merangsang kreativitas, pengetahuan, dan spiritualitas mereka. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, diadakan lomba sebagai platform untuk meningkatkan kreativitas, pengetahuan, dan dakwah di kalangan narapidana. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dan pengetahuan di kalangan narapidana dan memberikan kesempatan kepada WBP untuk mengembangkan diri secara positif, membantu mereka mengalihkan perhatian dari hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan, dan memperbaiki kualitas hidup mereka selama masa hukuman. Pelaksanaan kegiatan di Lapas Perempuan III Mataram melibatkan 18 peserta lomba Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an dan 15 peserta lomba Dakwah. Setelah seleksi ketat, tiga peserta terbaik dari masing-masing lomba dipilih untuk menerima pembinaan dan pendampingan khusus. Pembinaan ini dilakukan sebagai persiapan untuk mengikuti lomba di tingkat Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). Meskipun waktu persiapan terbatas, WBP dari Lapas Perempuan III Mataram berhasil lolos ke tingkat wilayah NTB, menunjukkan potensi dan bakat luar biasa yang dimiliki oleh para WBP. Keberhasilan ini menyoroti pentingnya mengasah dan mengembangkan bakat WBP secara berkelanjutan, sehingga mereka memiliki keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang berharga saat kembali ke masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam hal kreativitas, pengetahuan, dan pemahaman agama di kalangan peserta. Karya-karya yang dihasilkan oleh para narapidana menunjukkan bakat yang luar biasa dan potensi yang dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan rasa percaya diri narapidana serta memberikan mereka kesempatan untuk berkontribusi positif di lingkungan penjara. Dengan demikian, lomba ini berhasil menjadi platform yang efektif untuk menjelajahi dan mengembangkan bakat narapidana, serta memberikan dampak positif yang nyata bagi pengembangan pribadi dan spiritual mereka. Kata kunci: Bakat Narapidana; Meningkatkan Kreativitas dan Pengetahuan; Kalangan narapidana (WBP). ABSTRACTPrisons are often seen as places that restrict the creativity, knowledge, and spirituality of inmates. However, behind prison walls lies great potential that can be developed. The main problem faced by inmates is limited access to activities that can stimulate their creativity, knowledge, and spirituality. To address this issue, a competition was organized as a platform to enhance creativity, knowledge, and religious engagement among inmates. The purpose of this activity is to improve creativity and knowledge among inmates and provide them with the opportunity to develop themselves positively, helping them divert attention from undesirable behaviors, and improve their quality of life during their sentence. The implementation of the activity at the Women's Penitentiary III Mataram involved 18 participants in the Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an competition and 15 participants in the Dakwah competition. After a rigorous selection process, the top three participants from each competition were chosen to receive special coaching and mentoring. This coaching was conducted as preparation for competing at the Provincial level in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Despite limited preparation time, the inmates from the Women's Penitentiary III Mataram managed to advance to the NTB provincial level, showcasing the extraordinary potential and talent possessed by the inmates. This success highlights the importance of continuously honing and developing the inmates' talents, so they have valuable skills and knowledge when they return to society. The results of this activity showed significant improvements in creativity, knowledge, and religious understanding among the participants. The works produced by the inmates demonstrated remarkable talent and potential that can be further developed. Additionally, this activity boosted the inmates' self-confidence and provided them with the opportunity to contribute positively within the prison environment. Thus, this competition successfully became an effective platform for exploring and developing inmates' talents, and it had a tangible positive impact on their personal and spiritual development.  Keywords: Inmate Talents; Enhancing Creativity and Knowledge; Inmates (WBP).

Abstract

Wilayah Kelurahan Banjar rentan terhadap bencana disisi lain faktor budaya dan pola pikir masyarakat yang menganggap wajar perkawinan dini serta anggota PCA Ampenan sebagian besar sebagai pedagang yang ingin mengembangkan lapak online. Tujuan kegiatan ini, memberikan penyuluhan kepada mitra untuk meningkatkan  pengetahuan tentang bencana alam dan mitigasinya, pemahaman tentang manfaat dan mudhorot pernikahan diri serta memberikan tutorial pembuatan lapak online. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Community Development, melalui kegiatan penyuluhan langsung. Kegiatan penyuluhan bertempat di Masjid Al Manar, TK ABA 7 Ampenan, dilaksanakan sehari yaitu pada tanggal 29 Juni 2024. Tingkat keaktifan peserta dalam mengikuti penyuluhan tergolong tinggi. Tingkat kehadiran mitra dalam  penyuluhan relatif tinggi. Capaian yang dihasilkan dari penyuluhan ini adalah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan tentang bencana dan mitigasinya tertinggi sebesar 71,4 % dan terendah 0%, peserta lebih mampu berpikir positif dan lebih terbuka dalam mengungkapkan manfaat dan mudhorot dari pernikahan dini, penyuluhan literasi digital SIPO berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta menjadi sangat tahu/mampu dengan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 46% dan peserta menjadi tahu/mampu dengan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 5,4%. Tindak lanjut dari pengabdian ini adalah adanya rekomendasi kepada mitra untuk secara kontinyu mengikuti program penyuluhan agar membudaya dan berpola pikir yang positif tanggap dan tangguh menghadapi bencana.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the 21st century has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including education. Primary school children, who are growing up in the digital era, face new challenges in managing information access and social interactions, which also influence their moral development. Phenomena such as cyberbullying and the spread of fake news add complexity to these issues. Therefore, character education that integrates moral values into digital interactions becomes crucial. This study aims to explore how character education can be adapted within the digital era to address the moral challenges children face. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive literature review. Data was collected from various sources, including journals, books, and articles relevant to the topic of character education and technology, with publication years limited to between 2016 and 2024. The findings show that the main challenge in character education in the digital age is the lack of curriculum integration that aligns with technological advancements. Furthermore, many educators and parents lack the knowledge and skills necessary to teach character values in a digital context. However, there are opportunities to use technology as a tool to strengthen character education, such as through educational apps and digital platforms. This research recommends updating the curriculum to include digital skills and online ethics, as well as providing ongoing training for educators and support for parents to enhance the effectiveness of character education in the digital age.

Abstract

The Women's Correctional Institution (LPP) Class III Mataram serves as a rehabilitation center for women from diverse social and economic backgrounds. The Qur'an Coaching Program through Tahsin Tilawah learning is designed to enhance the ability to read the Qur'an while supporting the understanding and appreciation of religious teachings. The methods used include varied teaching approaches supported by competent instructors, as well as evaluation of learning outcomes from 160 participants. The research results indicate that 90% of participants experienced a significant improvement in reading quality and tajwid application, while 70% felt more connected to their religious teachings. Additionally, the program positively impacted participants' mental and emotional health, boosting their self-confidence and social interactions. Despite the positive trends observed, the research also highlights challenges such as limited time and facilities that need to be addressed for the program's sustainability. Collaboration with religious institutions and the community is essential to enrich the learning material. Overall, this program is expected to contribute to the rehabilitation and social reintegration process, helping inmates return to society with better and more positive personalities.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi lingkungan anak usia dini melalui pengenalan peta sebagai media pembelajaran di PAUD/TK Kasih Bunda Desa Telagawaru. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan dosen, mahasiswa, guru, serta masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan meliputi kegiatan menggambar dan mewarnai peta, penayangan video tentang bencana alam, serta pelatihan mitigasi bencana sederhana. Peserta didik berusia 4–6 tahun dipisahkan dalam kelompok sesuai tahap perkembangan, sehingga materi dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan belajar mereka. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pengenalan peta mampu menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu, meningkatkan pemahaman anak tentang bentuk wilayah Indonesia, serta menanamkan kesadaran dasar tentang pentingnya menjaga lingkungan dan memahami risiko bencana. Selain itu, guru dan orang tua memperoleh pengalaman baru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan. Program ini berhasil membangun sinergi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat dalam mendukung literasi lingkungan sejak dini. Dengan demikian, pengenalan peta dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk memperkuat pendidikan lingkungan dan kesiapsiagaan bencana di tingkat PAUD/TK. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat direplikasi di lembaga pendidikan serupa dengan penyesuaian konteks lokal.Abstract:  This community service program aimed to enhance environmental literacy among early childhood students through the introduction of maps as learning media at PAUD/TK Kasih Bunda in Telagawaru Village. The activities involved lecturers, university students, teachers, and local communities. The methods included drawing and coloring maps, showing educational videos about natural disasters, and providing basic disaster mitigation training. Children aged 4–6 years were grouped according to their developmental stages, allowing the materials to be tailored to their learning needs. The results indicate that introducing maps fostered curiosity, improved children’s understanding of Indonesia’s geographical forms, and instilled basic awareness of environmental care and disaster risks. Moreover, teachers and parents gained new experiences in implementing environmental-based learning. The program successfully built synergy among schools, families, and communities in supporting environmental literacy from an early age. Therefore, introducing maps can serve as an effective learning strategy to strengthen environmental education and disaster preparedness at the early childhood education level. This initiative is expected to be replicated in similar institutions with appropriate local adaptations.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and develop a conceptual model regarding the contributions of religious leaders to social resilience by integrating findings from both theoretical and empirical literature. The results of this study are expected to enrich the academic literature and provide practical guidance for policymakers and practitioners in designing strategies to enhance social resilience involving religious leaders. The research methodology employs a literature review and concept analysis approach, beginning with a review of relevant theoretical and empirical sources, followed by evaluation and categorization of the literature to identify key themes and relationships between concepts. The conceptual analysis aims to construct a comprehensive model illustrating the role of religious leaders in conflict mediation, social change advocacy, emotional support, and social aid organization. The study finds that religious leaders play a central role in strengthening social networks and community solidarity, which supports social resilience. The findings indicate that religious leaders are effective as conflict mediators, social change advocates, emotional support providers, and social aid organizers. However, there is a gap in the literature concerning the application of theory in practical contexts. This research makes a significant contribution by developing a more inclusive and applicable conceptual model, offering a framework for further research and practice. The findings have the potential to influence public policy by highlighting the importance of involving religious leaders in social resilience strategies and providing guidance for the implementation of the model in various contexts.
