Abstract

In this era of digitalization, business actors trying to adapt and be creative with a digital approach is a necessity. The ability of organizations to continue to survive is determined by their ability to adapt to technological advances in industry 4.0. In previous studies, many have investigated the opportunities presented by the role of digital transformation, but there are still obstacles and challenges faced in implementing this digital transformation. The culinary industry, which focuses on customer service and convenience in the process of implementing digital transformation in its business, also faces challenges in its journey. This study aims to discuss and identify obstacles and challenges faced by culinary industry players in the form of restaurants that are transitioning to implementing digital transformation in their services. Qualitative research methods were used in this study by conducting semi-structured interviews with owners, managers and employees in the culinary industry in several cities in Indonesia. Data collection based on empirical reviews and theoretical theories: lack of knowledge, lack of resources and cultural change. Empirical findings in the study show that most restaurants that are implementing digital transformation face challenges in terms of lack of resources, cultural change and lack of knowledge. The implications of this research can provide an overview for practitioners regarding the obstacles and challenges that restaurants will face in the process of implementing digital transformation in their business. This research can also be used as literature to fill the gaps that exist in the obstacles and challenges of digital transformation, especially in business.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the pandemic on the stability of the financial industry. After a disaster or disease outbreak in a region, the stabilization and recovery of various financial institutions will have a very important role in the overall economic recovery. Moreover, recently there has been a global disease outbreak (Covid-19) which has impacted the economies of various countries, including various financial institutions. This study uses a panel data approach and two estimation procedures, namely fixed effect and OLS to measure the impact of the pandemic on financial industry stability. Panel data used to measure the impact of natural disasters and disease outbreaks on the financial stability of the financial industry is fairly new to the research field, and provides valuable insights for policymakers and industry professionals. The results showed that natural disasters and outbreaks have a significant impact on the financial stability of the financial industry, and these have varying impacts depending on the type of disaster, country, and institution. From the findings of this study, the authors suggest that policymakers consider implementing new measures to mitigate the impact that will arise by improving risk management practices and increasing capital requirements for the financial industry. Future research is expected to focus on developing more comprehensive datasets to improve analysis and understanding of future impacts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Strategic foresight and its capability to support the development ofmanagement innovation processes within organizations. This study uses a narrative literature review approachinvolving potential interactions of three main topics, namely: strategic foresight, management innovation, andmanagement cognition. The research findings explain that every individual has a character from birth to beingable to see the future. Then the capability for foresight in this organization must be developed and continuouslymaintained by both stakeholders in the organization's management and employees. Before implementing afoiresight strategy, it is necessary to understand in depth managerial cognition as the basis for its application.Furthermore, the development of a well-managed strategic foresight will become a management innovation sothat it can maintain the sustaincapability of the organization. This conceptual paper lays a foundation that can beused as further research in determining strategic foresight abilities in relation to managerial dynamic abilities. Theresults of this paper can be used by organizations with a long history of facing challenges in capturing thechallenges of changing business environment in the future.
