Abstract

A disaster is an undesirable event that usually occurs suddenly and causes casualties. Indonesia is one of the countries most prone to disasters in the world, frequent and unpredictable, including earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, volcanic eruptions, floods and droughts. affected by a disaster if this situation is not carefully anticipated by all elements of government and society. So it is necessary to carry out a Disaster Management Simulation, which is a process or strategy that is implemented before, during or after a type of disaster event occurs. The purpose of the counseling and simulations carried out is expected to increase students' knowledge and readiness in dealing with emergency disasters after appropriate simulations regarding emergency disaster nursing are carried out. The activities carried out are in the form of counseling and simulations using leaflets, teaching aids and simulations. There is an increase in students' knowledge of emergency disaster nursing as well as skills and preparedness for dealing with disasters. Thus, providing counseling and simulations to students at Bawakaraeng High School regarding emergency disaster nursing is very effective in increasing knowledge.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a health problem that is quite complex and continues to increase in Indonesia. The number of HIV infections in Indonesia from 2005 to 2017 has reached 280,623. The highest percentage of AIDS cases is in the 20 – 29 year age group. Adolescents aged 15-24 years are a group that is vulnerable to HIV infection. The aim of PkM is that it is hoped that universities can participate in developing youth knowledge about HIV/AIDS at Bawakaraeng High School. Community service activities were carried out at Bawakareang High School on Thursday, April 20 2022 with 44 students participating using the counseling method. The results of the service had a positive impact on the participants in the pretest, there were 14 students (31.8%) who had good knowledge, and 26 (59.1%) who had sufficient knowledge, while 4 students (9.1%) had poor knowledge. This was followed by a 45 minute presentation of HIV/AIDS material and a 15 minute question and answer session. After that, the activity ended by working on posttest questions with the results showing that there was an increase in teenagers' knowledge, namely 36 students (82%) had good knowledge and 8 students (18%) had sufficient knowledge, while 0% had less knowledge. Further collaboration can be carried out by giving counseling to teenagers. which is on the same topic.

Abstract

Preparedness is the key to safety. This shows that there is a need for an earthquake and tsunami disaster preparedness plan so that losses can be minimized. Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster Preparedness education was provided on November 18 2021 at Bawakaraeng High School. The aim of this service is to provide education on earthquake and tsunami disaster preparedness provided by Lecturers and Students of the D3 Nursing Study Program, Makassar College of Health Sciences, which can provide benefits and refresh the knowledge of Bawakaraeng High School children in dealing with earthquake and tsunami disasters. The method used was lecture and question and answer with 50 participants (i) level II (Class XI). The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in knowledge after the education was carried out, namely 96%, so it is hoped that when an emergency disaster occurs students will be ready and understand the things that must be done.

Abstract

The lack of appropriate and relevant information about HIV/AIDS, and supported by the curious attitude of teenagers, causes them to become one of the populations with high-risk behavior. Prevention of HIV/AIDS needs to be maintained by teenagers or high school students so that it does not have a comprehensive impact on the health of teenagers, which of course is detrimental to the current generation. The solution that can be done is the delivery of material (education) and how to prevent HIV/AIDS for teenagers so that they do not contract this deadly disease. The form of this activity is in the form of health education from a team of nursing lecturers assisted by students with participants, namely high school teenagers who are participants in this activity as many as 44 students. During the implementation of the activity, don't forget to give quizzes and ways to prevent HIV/AIDS and everything related to HIV disease. /AIDS as part of the goal of mastering the material from participants in this PKM activity. Apart from that, an evaluation of the extent of mastery and benefits of this activity is carried out.
