Abstract

ABSTRACT. One of the abilities that the student must have to is problem-solving. Problem-solving is one of the activities in mathematics learning that train the student to think critically, logically, and systematically. Through these activities, students have the readiness to solve their problems in the future. This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving by students in grade eight. The type of research is qualitative descriptively with three subjects from grade eight middle school in Bulukumba. The indicator used to measure problem-solving ability is based on Polya's theory. To collect data, it was using problem-solving tests and interviews. The data analysis was using Miles and Huberman's theory. The result of the study shows the student's ability at a high level was able to meet all indicators, and the lower only got two or three of four.Keywords: profile, problem-solving, polya ABSTRAK. Salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa adalah kemampuan dalam pemecahan masalah. Pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika yang bertujuan untuk melatih siswa untuk berpikir kritis, logis, dan sistematis dalam memecahkan masalah. Melalui kegiatan tersebut, diharapkan siswa memiliki kesiapan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ditemukan dalam rangka menghadapi kehidupannya di masa yang akan datang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemecahan masalah matematika oleh siswa di kelas 8 di Kab. Bulukumba. Indikator yang digunakan untuk mengukur pemecahan masalah didasarkan pada teori Polya. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan melakukan tes pemecahan masalah dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan berdasarkan teori Miles dan Hubberman. Hasil penelitian memberikan kesimpulan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan awal tinggi mampu memenuhi seluruh indikator pemecahan masalah, sedangkan pada siswa yang berkemampan lebih rendah hanya mampu memenuhi 2 atau 3 dari 4 indikator.Kata Kunci: profil, pemecahan masalah, polya,

Abstract

This study analyzes the actualization of students’ morality through the perspective of Sufism at the Tahfizh Qur’an Al-Huffaazh Foundation in Perdagangan, Simalungun Regency. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings demonstrate that the internalization of Sufi values—such as sincerity (ikhlas), patience (sabar), trust in God (tawakkal), and humility (tawadhu)—is authentically manifested in the students’ daily lives through habitual practice, exemplary conduct, and sustained supervision. These values significantly shape students’ character, enhance the quality of Qur’anic memorization, and foster both religious discipline and everyday behavior. Nonetheless, challenges exist, both internal (e.g., peer influence) and external (e.g., gadget usage, social media, and romantic relationships). The foundation has implemented adaptive strategies, including restricting mobile phone usage, optimizing halaqah (group mentoring), individualized guidance, and collaborating with parents to address these issues. The study underscores the urgency of an innovative, collaborative Sufi-based moral education model as a solution for nurturing Qur’anic generations with noble character in the digital era.
